I'm quite curious about shizuku's fate. If her death happens according to the fortune then I will 100% believe Chrollo's fortune is still in effect. Right now, I'm just 98% sure.
Neon unconsciously activated her ability without having any knowledge of NEN. She wasn't sure how her ability worked, and mentions her hand just moves and writes the fortune. It's the others who confirm that her fortunes are very accurate. She then mentions her fortunes being a little strange, then when she writes chrollo's fortune, she says the first part of the poem "might've already happened."
It's these tiny moments of uncertainty from her that makes me believe she didn't fully understand how her ability worked. Maybe the truth is, no matter what, the fortune will become true. Good or bad, delayed or not, it's inevitable.
So far, every stanza in Chrollo's fortune came true. Uvo was already confirmed dead. Pakunoda also died, but her "betrayal" might've been the reason for the delay in the troupe's fortunes.
Then 2 years later, Shalnark died just after his phone started ringing--according to the fortune. Even hisoka's fortune came true. The battle between hisoka & chrollo happened 2 yrs later. It was delayed yes, but it still happened.
And if shizuku dies in the same manner as described in her fortune then the troupe will indeed be cut in half.
Since Uvo was already cofirmed dead in the first stanza, he doesn't count. Remaining troupe members: 12. According to the fortune, 6 members will die. So Pakunoda, shalnark, kortopi-- 3 members dead.
At least 3 more will die on this ship. Only 6 troupe members will remain alive. One thing I've noticed is, for some reason, some gloss over this part of Chrollo's fortune:
"Though cut in half shall be your number
Tis not lost wherein your advantage lies."
^ this bolded part. They argue that it already happened but like all other fortunes that were delayed, this one too has been delayed. Yorknew ended up being a tragedy for Chrollo. Uvo died. Pakunoda died. Chrollo's heart was wrapped with the judgement chain so his ability was sealed and he was unable to communicate with the troupe.
So he wasn't at an advantage in yorknew. It was tragedy after tragedy for him. However, he will remain supreme after losing 6 of his members. Character development maybe. A change in mindset? We don't know about the events that'll lead to that. But the fortune mentions him being at advantage, and we'll see it happen.
Some people also argue about the last two lines of this stanza means meeting Abengane:
"Amuse yourself with the entr'acte,
Seek out new friends once in a bind,
Perhaps to the east one can be tracked,
The one most needed you're sure to find"
But it's hisoka who brought abengane to chrollo? while chrollo was reading a manga. Chrollo wasn't the one "tracking" abengane.
Whoever is this person he needs the most, he'll probably find that person on the ship. Last we saw him, he was searching for someone through Love dial. He even used Love dial in Heaven's arena but found nobody. Now this is what you call tracking someone. He's searching for someone new.
Love dial has found a match "up there". Either 1st or 2nd tier. It feels like the latter parts of his fortune was referencing all these events happening at the moment. Maybe we will see some important interactions, or some alliance.
Really looking forward to the next volume already.
