I love talking about BL color theory and with a lot of bl the primary colors are Green and Blue. With this show Blue represents Mizuki and Yoh is green, if you noticed Yoh wears a lot of Blue, which can signify him being owned by Mizuki in a sense (This show is very DOM/SUB focused). Mizuki even buys a blue shirt(?) sweater for Yoh on their date. The only time Yoh really wore his color was when he was in college. Now he only green has is his green phone case, which can mean that the only piece of him that’s still him, since he watches Mizuki on his phone like he used to in college (the Mizuki he likes who is bright and talkative). Yoh feels consumed and not himself anymore, he wants his own life and independence. But Mizuki wants Yoh home to himself. I think they’re gonna have to learn to communicate their issues, we still haven’t gotten the full entire scene where Mizuki and Yoh agreed to live together. But a more chaotic ending would be if Yoh will have the power to finally say no and be on his own (I have a theory on how it’s been foreshadowed Yoh might leave). I personally haven’t read the manga so I wouldn’t know what happens, but it would be an interesting ending and that can lead to a second season. Let me know what you think!
