@ofvagabxndsâ âfor some godforsaken reason, iâm still here, like iâve always been before.â / easton + calla
the look he regards her with is one of confusion and worry, at best. itâs clear to see she hasnât been the same since the mess that had been the fight between connor and leo. he hadnât seen much of it at the time, but he had heard plenty since and he was suitably worried about calla more than the two of them. they could handle themselves, but calla was a lot softer and sweeter than they were. âyeah, tell me about it.â he folds his arms over his chest and watches her carefully. âyou know, i mean that. you can tell me about whatâs bothering you if you want, calla. youâre here for a reason, ainât ya? whatâs going on in that pretty little head of yours?â easton reaches out and takes her hand gently, smoothing his thumb over her knuckles in attempt to soothe her.Â

@discstersâ âjust because i left doesnât mean that iâm not still there.â / ana + camilla
âi actually think thatâs sort of exactly what it meant, camilla. you left. you were... gone. you werenât here.â perhaps if silas had still be around, this would not have hit ana so hard. itâs not so much the lying that causes her heart to ache almost to the point of breaking, itâs that she had mourned for a friend that was still alive. still out there and safe. well, to what extent, ana was not entirely sure, but now she was back and presumably trying to get her life back to normal. and ana would happily allow her that but it didnât mean she was not going to have trouble with it. âare you... are you okay? where were you? what...â she trails off, mostly at a loss for words because sheâs staring in the face of a close friend who was dead but is now not. sheâs standing in front of her, in the clear light of day, looking just as she had a day or two before she had âdiedâ. âyouâre not leaving again, are you?â her words are small and soft and the intention is clear, because ana is unsure if she could handle that again.Â
    đđ đđđ đđ đđđđđđđ , being around a person again she actually considered family . of course she loved her actual little brothers to pieces , but this was different . being around easton was different . while she had always been the person to take care of her actual family , had to act like an adult when she was still so young , he always managed to take care of her . he was good for her . he managed to calm her down , which not a lot of people could do . taming her anger was a unique specialty , one could say . she sighed contently at his embrace , enjoying the warmth of a hug she had missed for months â even though she usually didnât like this form of physical connection . â how am i supposed to keep my head down though ? â , she mumbled with a curious undertone , looking up to the person she considered her big brother .â i mean , you know me ⌠â the brunette had to laugh at her own words , shaking her head at her own stupidity . â iâm the first one that goes in when shitâs about to go down . i canât sit around and just do ⌠nothing . â
easton was no stranger to taking care of family when you were too young to even take care of yourself. perhaps that had been a large part of why he had reached out to take victoria under his wing so quickly into their friendship, keep her safe and make sure she was taken care of at any moment. his hands press gently against her cheeks and a soft laugh escapes him at her words. âyeah, yeah, i do know you. but i know youâre gonna do the right thing because youâre smart. youâre much smarter than you or anyone else gives you credit for, vic.â easton taps a finger against the tip of her nose and wraps his arm around her shoulders, gently tugging her against his side. âyeah, i know that, too. and iâm not saying do nothing, just take it easy. lay low, see your friends, let them berate you for acting rashly and not coming for help. which i will do, but iâm just glad youâre safe so we can get to that shit later. you hungry?â
to know dom was to know that she wasnât a nervous person. she rarely ever was scared of anything and instead seemed to take everything in stride. but the blonde before her had always known how to take her breath away. he seemed so much bigger than the last time she had seen him, clearly having filled out in all the best ways. it made her heart flutter a little. she had once thought he couldnât get any hotter but here he was in front of her, living proof that some people just get finer with time. she let her blue eyes trail over him for a moment before she looked up at his face once more. it was more weathered, those eyes had seen more shit, but bits of her east was still in there.Â
turning her body to face him but still lean against the wall, dom let that small smile grow into a bigger grin as she tilted her head up at him. â i know, itâs all that running around a hospital i do. keeps me in these tight ass jeans. â she felt a part of her slowly returning to the regular smartass dom she usually was, fighting past those initial look jitters. she could even hear her carefully tucked away texan accent slipping out. â so do you. i like the longer hair on ya, reminds me of just how much of a pretty boy you were. â she lifted her beer bottle to her lips, maintaining eye contact with him as she took a sip. â i hear i owe you some congrats on coming back, putting that kutte back on & all that ⤠and on your kids. i bet theyâre beautiful. â there was a time when she couldâve sworn she was gonna be his wife, the mother of his children, but that was ages ago ⤠whole worlds ago.
it had been a long time since he had seen dom like this. they hadnât had their chance to properly catch up yet and he was only slightly bitter about that. he was unsure if she was actually actively avoiding him or if this was just how their lives had panned out. they had just kept missing each other until the universe decided that it was time for them to reunite. to get their shit together and talk and be in the same room as one another, stand and talk and see what feelings may still lie beneath their surface of their carefully manufactured masks. he was a little older but not necessarily wiser than the last time they did this. he had seen a lot and done a lot, but was he wiser for it? that is not something he can say for sure, because if he was wiser, he probably would never have put his kutte back on, and yet, here he was, wearing it proudly.
ânow, why doesnât that surprise me?â he almost goes to roll his eyes but he knew enough about her life from the things that tank had told him, whether because he had asked or because the information had been offered up to test eastonâs reaction. âplease, it just gives the kids more to tug on, which is even worse than it sounds. i should probably get it cut a little shorter soon.â unlikely he would even bother but he knew it was something that he should do, so that had to count for something, right? he canât take his eyes off of her. she looks so good and sheâs still the same dom he always knew but she was different in so many ways that he wanted to know more about. âi guess so.â he clears his throat, shrugging his shoulders as she continues. âyouâll meet them soon enough. tank invited me to sunday night dinner and he practically threatened me into bringing the kids.â once upon a time, easton had plans for dom to be the mother of his kids but life had a funny way of working out. he didnât regret a single thing about it but there was always time to make amends.Â
although it had always been a goal of his to travel, to see the world and all the places heâd at one stage or another claimed to be from, heâd hoped it would be under his own terms. not due to a con going wrong, not because their plan had â for all intents and purposes â failed. so, no matter where they ended up, doug wasnât going to be happy about it. a brow raises as georgeâs thumb brushes against his ring, teeth gnawing at his bottom lip. âof course i trust you.â he speaks with certainty, aware that it wasnât even a question, that george knew it to be true. try as he might, he couldnât deny that the fact it was a place the other male knew so well, didnât make the pill a little easier to swallow, but it was completely new to him; and it went without saying that meant he wasnât comfortable. those heâd known and loved had let him down profusely when heâd been younger, he didnât have much hope for strangers. ââŚyou might want to believe that, but you canât know that for certain. how old were you the last time you were even here? how much has changed for you? so what do you think happenedâŚthis place got frozen in time or some shit?âÂ
doug was right to worry and to be a little wary of the situation. hell, george was plenty wary of this town and everything it meant. it held a lot of good memories for him, but it was also home to two of his worst. sat in the diner right now, that made things a little easier on him, he could remember the times his mother would bring him here whilst they waited for his father to finish up on a job and meet them there for dinner. happier times in his childhood, of course. âhey, i get it. you know i get it. ever since you let me in, iâve understood.â georgeâs fingers tap gently against dougâs temple before he cups his cheek. the waitress fills up their mugs with coffee and george smiles up at her instead of speaking, choosing to keep his attention on doug for as long as he could. âalright, yeah. it was a while ago. and iâm not so naĂŻve to think that this place just stood still whilst i was gone, iâm not. but itâs the only place i know other than our home, doug. i just would rather we were somewhere one of us knew than in an entirely strange place.â he drops his hand and rests it over dougâs, reaching into his pocket to pull out some cash that didnât belong to either of them and place it under his mug. âyou want to get out of here and go for a walk?â

@burstgemsâ âwhen i was a child my nerves ran wild.â / george + douglas
heâs pulled from his thoughts by douglasâ words and he sighs, looking over at him. it would mostly be an understatement to say that coming here was not in the plans and that he was unhappy about it. but there was nothing else that george saw as an option. at least he knew this place, that was something. âi know they did. and i know they probably are right now. but you trust me, donât you?â his thumb brushes against the ring adorning his husbandâs finger and he smiles lightly. âif you trust me, and i think that you do, you know iâd never do anything to put you in danger. or take you anywhere that that could happen. this... i grew up here. weâre safe here.â he didnât know that for sure and heâs sure doug would know that but it was something he felt. even if there was absolutely no fucking reason for him to feel such a way because he hadnât been here in twenty years. how could he know what this place was like now?Â
â itâs nothing. itâs just a bruise. easton + frankie â ( @blossomhcneyâ )
âiâll be the judge of that.â she retorts, setting her med kit on the table beside them as she takes his hand into hers, examining the bruising across his knuckles carefully. âwhat did you do this time, hm ??â the question is nonchalant, as always, whatever antics he got himself up to were no surprise to her at this point. âno stitches this time â how boring.â she glances up at him, offering a playful smile before grabbing hold of an ice pack, gently pressing it against the injury. perhaps it was unnecessary, but she wasnât one to take shortcuts when it came to mending injuries and the like. âhowâs the pain ?? or are you about to give me some âtough guyâ spiel.â teasing seemed to be apart of her routine, especially with easton.Â
âalright, alright. iâm just saying, the skin didnât break.â for easton, if there was no broken skin, that was a good night. no blood meant good things, at least if it didnât come from him. usually he liked to make somebody else bleed but that was beside the point. âsome guys just donât know when to stop.â he decides that to be explanation enough, but if frankie pried, he would likely disclose more information to her. he liked frankie, she was a nice girl and she was always the first on his list if he needed to be patched up. she was good at what she did. âoh, iâm so sorry. next time, iâll get a couple cuts for you to stitch up, deal?â he cocks an eyebrow and snorts a laugh because they both know heâll do it if itâs what she wants, though he canât actually imagine her saying that sounded like a good idea. âitâs not too bad. i dont have a tough guy spiel, darlinâ. i just am a tough guy.â a small smile tugs at his mouth and he reaches out to squeeze at her elbow gently. âthanks, frank.â
âwhen was the last time you ate something? / ana + frankieâ ( @blossomhcneyâ )
the question causes her to pause, glancing up from her paperwork as she remains silent, pondering the question at hand. perhaps it was cause for concern that it was taking so long to come up with an answer, but as usual she would simply brush it off. the irony of it all, how she actively sought out to care for others â but never quite herself. ââŚate something on my break.â she mumbles out a lie, despite the fact they never quite worked on ana. frankie loved her dearly, but she couldnât help but feel she caused her far too much stress at times. âiâm fine, honestly.â she offers a soft chuckle as her shoulders slump into a shrug. âyou worry too much.âÂ
that it was taking so long for frankie to respond to the question certainly sent alarm bells ringing in anaâs head. she folds her arms over her chest and regards her friend with a worried expression, leaning against the desk beside her. âi think thatâs bullshit.â she reaches out and rests her hand against the top of frankieâs head and leans down to press a light kiss beside it. âi got you some food, so eat up. you take care of everyone else and now itâs time you let me take care of you. and no, i ainât gonna take no for an answer here.â she pulls back with a soft but sad smile and pushes the bag of food towards her, the paperwork sliding away at the same time. âyou know, i think it might be my job to worry too much. just in general. iâve got you and bash driving me up the fucking wall.â her words are a little harsh but the soft smile gracing her features softens it immensely.Â

trigger warnings: death
george thomas was the only child of dennis and gloria thomas, loved and cared for by both, though each in their own ways. gloria showed her love for george by trying to mould him into an upstanding member of society, she wanted the best for her son and she wanted him to have the best life that he could and, in a town like newton, she knew the best opportunity he had was to keep his head down and stay quiet. now, dennis, on the other hand, wanted george to grow up just like him. a crook. by the age of eight, he had successfully been handed over many of dennisâ pearls of wisdom, being capable of much more than he likely should have been if it wasnât for his fatherâs constant âtrainingâ as he liked to call it. it wasnât long before gloria realised her path for george was long gone, darkened before he had even had a chance to find out what would await him on the other end if he chose to take it.Â
by fifteen, he was the master of the short con. occasionally, he would get a little help if it was a two person job, but he was capable of doing so much by himself and his father was deathly proud of him for carrying on the family business, as it were. it seemed to george that the thomasâ were a long line of con artists and there was to be no disappointing his father. sure, his mother had fallen victim to the love of a good man, but that didnât mean his career was any good. if you asked george, being a con artist was like being a regular artist. they wove beautiful tales to any unsuspecting person that should find themselves under the watchful eye of a thomas and they told them what they wanted to hear. if they wanted something for nothing, they could be taken and it was not up to george to deny them of the right to be conned when they so surely deserved it.Â
the only thing that george wanted that differed to his fatherâs plans for him (for them) was that he wanted to get out of newton. he wanted to see the world. he wanted to explore and find himself along the way. hell, he just wanted to con as many people as he could, the ones who deserved it, anyway. he was a simple man with simple tastes and he just wanted to explore and travel and meet other family members who might be able to show him more, a better life, a more... extravagant way to live and earn. it would be foolish to say that dennis was unimpressed with this idea, but george was adamant that one day, he would get to see the world for all it was worth. he would come back, after all, this was his home. his parents were here and he wanted to stay with them as long as he could, live and die by them. they had given up so much for him, so much more than he could ever know, so how could he ever just give up on them? well, it looked like he wouldnât have to.Â
it seemed dennis was unable to give up the life he had so dearly passed onto his son, one last con, he just had to be involved with something once more. he left newton for a few weeks, a month at most. that was the plan, at least. now, george was unaware of the true details for a long time and that was, perhaps for the best, because to know that his father was killed over a con gone wrong, well it would have been the one thing that could make him give it all up. especially if his mother had lived long enough to tell him. as luck would have it, she suffered her own demise a few weeks later. a complete accident, truly, caught in what could only be described as a gang war, though the term is far more troubling than it sounds. as far as anybody knows, it was gang members and gloria stumbled into the wrong place at the wrong time. it was the last straw for george. he had always wanted to get out but now he had no reason to stay. it wasnât long before he had sold the house and left for england.Â
it wasnât all it was cracked up to be, but it was somewhere new and he had family there, so it seemed like a no brainer when he booked the ticket. and, of course, it was how he met the crew he would come to work with for years. entirely by accident, mind you. he was running a few short cons, the easiest being âaccidentallyâ bumping into somebody and lifting their wallet. it was going swimmingly, if he were to be asked, until he lifted a wallet and his was lifted at the same time. it was... sort of really strange to be caught in a situation where he was targeting somebody who had also been targeting him. the fascination only grew from there, though. that was how he met douglas and when he was introduced to douglasâ mentor, it was even more of a surprise to find that it was his grandfather, the very man he had come to england to see. âlife has a funny way of working outâ he had said at the time and george thought that yes, it certainly did and yes, he could see he potential of having a life here, in this country, with these people.Â
working with a crew was much better than working on his own. the art of the long con was something george had not had the chance to be shown by his own father, so it was somewhat poetic that the very man who had shown him the ropes all those years ago should be the one to show george. it was beautiful to watch him work, see him rope in the marks for them to weave their tales for, take them for as much as they could whilst never feeling an ounce of guilt because they deserved it, after all. and life was really good for a long time. the crew was like his new family, a found family, after all. they looked out for one another and they kept each other safe. they were not intended to be a substitute for the family he lost, but they were pretty good for it.Â
it didnât take long for him to develop feelings for douglas and that felt like a death wish. in this line of work, there was no way to have a normal life. he had seen that much with his father, he had eventually been drawn back into the not so glamorous life of a con man. he had paid for his sins with his death and george was determined not to allow that to come of himself and douglas. not because he had a few feelings. he hid them well, like he hid all things about himself during certain moments, though his grandfather was far too capable of drawing them out of him. it seemed that even with a found family, secrets were not ideal. they were the make or break of many situations. feelings also seemed to be the make of break to george, but what did he know if his grandfather was anything to go by. perhaps a con artist could have a life and still do their job without getting caught out.Â
so, they gave it a go. a really good go. a few arguments here or there but who didnât have those? they were in love and they were happy and, as far as george was concerned, that was all that mattered. his grandfather was certainly supportive in the entire ordeal, as where the other members of their crew. they were in love and not a single one of them could ever make anything else mean more than that. and, as it turns out, love is not the catalyst of every good thing in a personâs life. george did not fall in love and then his entire world crashed and burned around him. they spent a long time together with the worst thing that ever happened being a con falling through. they were never caught and convicted of anything. caught, yes, but that meant nothing if they had no evidence to put them away. so they were free, day after day, year after year. hell, they even got married a month ago. that may have been where it all went downhill.Â
with every long con, there was a chance that it could go south very quickly. very dangerously. usually, the cops were the most dangerous thing about a con. but in this case, it was the mark themselves. a very wealthy businessman that was more than capable of ruining a life with the snap of his fingers. and by ruin, well he could destroy their credibility, destroy relationships, businesses, partnerships. and then, on the flip side, he could have somebody killed and nothing would trace back to him. if he thinks about it now, he might say that getting married right before a con with a mark like that was foolish, but at the time, nobody thought that. hell, they were just happy to be getting married and sealing their commitment together after so long of dancing around the subject. their marriage was not the only catalyst to the con, there were many things that were not exactly overlooked but were not airtight and that was the big thing, wasnât it? they had to make sure that nobody would come looking for them, that they were going to be home free with such a dangerous mark. well, they got the money. and they cleared out of their hotel room before they were found, but by the skin of their teeth, practically. the decision to take some time apart, go their separate ways until it was safe for them in england again, it was mostly a joint decision. they knew they could not safely be together in england and they all needed a way out, somewhere to lay low for a while. they had to make sure they were safe and would continue to be.Â
it was easy to see why george had picked newton for his safe haven. he knew the place, he was used to the streets, though they may have changed a little in the twenty years it had been since he had lived there. but it was his home, even if there were no loving parents waiting with open arms to take him back in. it was hard to convince douglas it was the right place to go but, the way george saw it, they had no choice and it had to be done. they had to go somewhere and england was no longer capable of housing them safely. so, newton it was.Â
WANTED CONNECTIONS.
former best friends / ride or die - so we all know i love a little ride or die, so iâm thinking anybody that was on the road to their life of crime from a young age and would have been well versed in the way of mr. dennis thomas, con man extraordinaire - their parents may have been friends or even enemies ! but they were basically inseparable right up until george left newton behind.Â
people heâs conned - wait a smart way for me to name this ! anyway, anybody that has been in town for the past two weeks (donât look at me like that) has probably been subject to george lifting their wallet. this is not a dig at their intelligence, he is very good at what he does, so there is no shame in it. and the potential for anyone he may have crossed paths with over the years lies here too. PLUS anyone that was around 21 years ago would likely also have had the exact same done to them, if they were old enough for such a thing, of course.Â
childhood friends - this stays being like former best friends but not necessarily to that level. but some lil friends back in the day that he can reach out to now is ......... sexi pls and thanks
this is all i have in the way of wanted connections thus far but please do feel free to send me any you have because wbk i love to plot

@ofvagabxndsâ âyou canât trust a single thing i say.â / oliver + calla
he just looked at her for a long moment. the fact that he had basically had to corner her in the clubhouse said more about this situation than he cared to consider, but he was annoyed. he was frustrated and angry and it wasnât even so much with calla but the situation itself. well, partly with calla because she had been avoiding him like the plague and he wanted an explanation. that was all. just to talk and put everything on the table, because she certainly wasnât offering up anything willingly. âusually, iâd tell you youâre full of shit. but lately, i donât know if thatâs right or if youâre actually telling me the truth right now. âcause if youâre telling me the truth now, that seems to suggest you canât be trusted and i donât believe that.â it truly was not that he didnât believe that and more that he wouldnât. not then, at least. âyou might not want to talk about this but weâre going to. come on.â
one month was plenty of time to cloud the water and cross the lines, standing in front of him was only living, breathing proof of this. gone were the days of either presence going unexpected, the time when heâd found offense in her vague appearances or demands for meetings, also seemed to have somehow melted away. the mystery was not solved, even with both of their girls returned, and maeson fed and watered her grudges, keeping them alive until the very ending. features dropped just slightly, expression pulled taunt, head nodding before dark eyes tilted up to find a face that was a little more familiar now. âweâre still missing a player, o.â liberties are taken, slipped up really, before nodding to try and stumble over them, clumsy in both advance and intention. âand none of them are safe, mine or yours, none of them, until we know who that is.â look changes to expectant, a silent ask, but of what, itâs hard to tell, huffing a sigh as she takes a much needed step back from the interaction. @blossomhcneyâ
in such a short space of time, so much had gone on. it felt like years ago that they had first spoken about their plans. more so, maesonâs plans and how oliver could aid her with them. truthfully, it had been an easy decision to make, helping her. it wasnât that he typically wanted to be part of the solution, but if there was a choice in who would be president of the reapers and he could have a say in that? he would have been foolish to look a gift horse in the mouth like that. many meetings later and here they were, maeson was where she wanted to be and oliver could get back to business as usual. well, sort of usual. arms fold over his chest as he watches her and listens to what she has to say. âthen how do we find out who that is?â he isnât sure what to say to her, what she wants him to say. thereâs a lot to say, he can tell that much but what exactly, he isnât sure. âsafety is pretty paramount in this, even if we canât guarantee it, we should be able to be confident in our advances to maintain it.â
