The Spookyween Dance Floor!
It was hot on the dance floor.
The room was mostly dark, lit by purple and orange mood lighting that sparkled off the disco ball. This second floor room had a glass dance floor overlooking the main bar below. It was Brianna's favorite part of the club. They often did karaoke in the downstairs garden room. It was cute, fun. The upstairs was different, it always felt wilder up here.
Brianna nearly collapsed on to the small couch next to Bastion. It felt like Kody had been swinging her around for hours. He was a better dancer then her, but Brianna more than made up for it with enthusiasm. All that enthusiasm had left sweaty and thirsty. She gulped down the glass of punch in her hand.
Neither of them were really drinkers. Kody loved his edibles, which Bri was happy to partake on a smaller scale, but drinking was calories and Kody was stingy with his "fun" calories. A beer always lost out to a cookie. Bri was an occasional wine on girls night type. But tonight, in this hot dark room, everyone was a drink like a fish kind of girl.
Later, on a different pink couch, Bri leaned against her husband. Her head had felt like it was spinning while she was dancing. She leaned further, sliding down in to Kody's lap. She wasn't spinning any more. The lights looked soft and so pretty in her hazy vision. Kody was leaning against the wall. Someone was talking to him. It was Tyrese, or maybe Marcus. Bri couldn't tell. She put her head on Kody's leg.
It was Marcus talking. He might as well have been talking to a log. Brianna was down for the count and Kody was right behind her. That suited him just fine. The door to a supply closet was behind the couch, and no one was coming back there with two drunk bodies sprawled out. Marcus looked across the room, trying covertly to make eye contact with someone. He found her and gave a small nod of his head, the most subtle gesture he could make. Courtney moved around the edge of the room. She made a show of checking on Brianna, then slipped to the door behind the couch.
((I had so much fun with the Party, I wanted to add a little more to it, including some more STORY and some of the shorts of everyone dancing!))
