Bloopy talks about the June Erohorror Writing Jelly(It's exactly like a Jam!)
Hi everyone, and it may very well be just one reading this, as this is my first tumblr post! I was a part of the Erohorror Writing Jelly this past month, which was hosted by the Erohorror Writer Hub.

It's a little community space I enjoy, since it's focused on writing and purposefully limits the flirting and kayfabe that can overwhelm discussion in other erohorror spaces. Love hounds and things getting silly, just not what I'm mainly there for! Writing for the Jelly over the last month was a fun experience, and connecting with other cool writers for beta reads or just yapping has been very satisfying.

Sharp is what immediately comes to mind when I think about this story, in how quickly and directly it hurts the reader. I like it a lot. You’re immediately thrown into a situation where the three sister-hounds are faced with deciding which of them is to die. No matter what happens, their bonds with each other are going to die too. The nagging, repetitive thought that they aren’t really your sisters(the story is written in second person) and the way you dismiss the thought each time says something about found family, how important those bonds are despite being subjected to horror at the same time. While the multiple endings are creative and fun to see, I can’t help thinking that it takes away from the potential impact a singular ending could have had(if you choose Lola first you might be evil). Still, a very cool piece and it's also cool to see Bun experimenting!

I wasn’t as much a fan of this one, it was kind of hard for me to follow the story, but there are some interesting ideas at play. An amnesiac being adopted into a family leads to fun dynamics to play with, and there’s some cool body horror going on with the bodies made of bees. I can tell the author has strong images in their head as they write and look forward to seeing more as they continue to write and improve!
What Could Weapons Know of Love? by CharonsFerry (Click to read)
This story is told from the perspective of an outside narrator, almost like a campfire story, and it's very fun! It takes inspiration from historic knights and twists the code of dueling(seconds mentioned, wow) in a perverted way. I like the contrast drawn between typical stories of love and say, a combat doll thrusting its gun barrel into another’s mouth. One note I have is that there definitely could be room to build up the history and sexual tension between Beetle and Frag more. This is mostly me wanting more payoff from the final scene. Dolls using dueling and the language of violence to explore love is a delicious idea.
