Midway through the mission Grace and Rocky find Simon on the blood moon and fish him out, hes in too bad of shape to survive without a medically induced coma, so Grace sets him on his coma bed has has Armando intubate.
When he's all fixed up and ready to wake up Armando automaticly injects him with the amnesia drug because it's programed to do that with whoever wakes up from coma on this bed.
So now Grace who only has most of his memories has to help a stranger try to remember why he doesn't have an arm.

Anyway, Ken gets lost on the rocket ship, and Grace just sees out of the hail mary window a guy riding on the back of a rocket wearing just a fishbowl like helmet, perfectly fine just a bit bored.

Okay we've all seen merman Simon, and mutated fish Simon, but what about dryad Simon.
When the tree grows and spreads out it overtakes him, then rebuilds him out of wood and leaves.
Can't decide if he should regain his memories and be really worried about eden finding him and worshiping him as some god.

Hear me out yall, I don't think ellie (the blood eel) was evil.
She's made up of scientists, and when she finds a new person she leads him to an area she thinks is incredibly important and full of answers, she doesn't bother simon at all.
And yes there was the part where something knocks him around, but I don't think that was ellie, I think that was another creature, we know there's at least two, so who's to say there isn't a third.
She only becomes aggressive when he says that he's blamed for the destruction of filament station, which like, fair, that was probably their home before getting eel'd I'd be pissed too.
Love the idea that simon glares all the time only because he's farsighted so on erid grace gives him a pair of glasses and suddenly he's all sunshine and rainbows with the brightest eyes imaginable
