GUILD WARS 2 ART COUNTDOWN

27 days : 17 hours as of this post aka: too long. To distract myself from 27 more days OF WAITING, I decided to dive back into some GW2 themed art to try to work through some art block - ideally i’d like to do a piece a day so send me your character references! This can be through direct message, reblog, reply etc. 

Your character must be a Guild Wars 2 character. 

I’m comfortable enough in my ability as an artist, so feel free to send me plants, rats, and giant murder cats.

High quality references will increase the likelihood that I get around to your character - if it’s low quality and I have to squint to see details I’ll most likely pass it up. Or you’ll just get a terribly inaccurate piece.

Quick concept sketch of my character Colt. A ex-con attempting to reintegrate into society after an extended prison sentence. Despite his desire to separate himself from his criminal lifestyle, he finds himself repeatedly getting pulled into ‘one last job’.

If I were a sea animal, I’d be a leopard seal. If I were a piece of furniture, I’d be an escritoire. If I were a gemstone, I’d be a sapphire. If I were a flower, I’d be a calla lily. If I were a kind of weather, I’d be dry alpine warmth. If I were a colour, I’d be burgundy. If I were an emotion, I’d be resolve. If I were a fruit, I’d be a pomegranate. If I were a sound, I’d be the click of high heels. If I were an element, I’d be Polonium. (Traditional elements, I guess I’d be water.) If I were a place, I’d be a lightening-charred hillside. If I were a taste, I’d be savory and herbal. If I were a scent, I’d be a freshly snuffed candle and sometimes, turpentine. If I were an object, I’d be a rapier. If I were a body part, I’d be a clavicle or orbitofrontal cortex. If I were a song, I’d be Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis. If I were a pair of shoes, I’d be polished riding boots.
