Something was off about this one. The priest wasn’t sure what it was exactly, but there was something about her. It couldn’t be that she seemed to be around the same age as his eldest, no. Foolish. It was something on the tip of his nose giving her away.
But it seemed that his staring had been noticed. As she turned to face him his mouth crumbled into a grimace at the curtness of her words. He refused to get up from his seat as he leaned back and replied in turn.
“Bit of a tongue on you I see, lass. Maybe you should use your words to respect your elders, hmm? Can’t the elderly enjoy their surroundings? Parents must have raised you something awful.”
“ I would not know. I had none to raise me. “ Blunt and to the point. Those were basically her verbal weapons towards anyone who’d speak like that to her. Of course she wasn’t expecting someone looking like a basic drunkard to understand what kind of position she was in. The point of the matter was that she was his surroundings and it was starting to irritate her just a bit.
“ I would respect you more had you given me an actual answer instead of saying the first thing that came to mind. But that does not seem to be the case. Stare all you want I suppose, but any answer I may potentially have for you might not be one you seek or want.
If you have a question that is. “
