Bellarke AU Week: Day 1

So, this is my Bellamy saving Clarke oneshot, done slightly differently. Hope you like it!

Bellamy traipsed through the forest, his boots trampling the thick, muddy turf as he searched desperately for any sign of Clarke. His mind had been a mess ever since he’d found out that there was a goddamn bounty on her name, and that she was in danger. It was a stark difference to what he’d felt previously, when he’d been so angry at her for leaving that it had threatened to consume him- causing his jaw to clench and his hands to curl into fists at just the mention of her name- but whatever it was he felt now was much, much worse. Even the thought of losing her, of never seeing her again had his stomach twisting into knots and that burning feeling rising into his throat- he knew he had to find her. He had to. Otherwise he’d never forgive himself for letting her leave.

As he trekked through the trees, keeping an eye out for any kind of movement, his thoughts strayed back to the days of the drop ship; everything was so much simpler back then- when there were no rules, no wars and everyone just had one goal: the fight for survival. He missed the freedom as well, and how they had managed to work together, whether their opinions differed or not.

Well, he reasoned, it was usually Clarke and I that had differing views. He had to smile at that- the girl had been a headache since the first day they landed- constantly keeping in check, making him question his decisions. He saw now that that was exactly what he had needed. If it wasn’t for her, he would have fallen into a place where there was no coming back from.
