These are some photos that I stumbled across on the internet of the last meals of inmates on death row. I am not quite sure who took them but they have really resonated with me.
They create an almost humanising effect of someone who has taken multiple lives. Also, they are beautifully directed and shot.
Loretta Lux’s eerily enigmatic portraits of children are hauntingly mesmerizing. These cool-pastel soaked images evoke a profound strangeness. Perhaps it is the isolation of boys and girls in stark landscapes or the photographic realness and painterly disbelief. Either way, I find them rather breath taking and reminiscent of old horror movies such as The Shining and The Omen.
Some beautifully soft photographs taken by New York photographer Heidi Swanson, to brighten up your day.
And here to put us into bed tonight is our last photographer for the show, Brisbane based Sophie Richards.
We are pleased to announce 'New Arcadia: Contemporary Australian Photography' as our second show.
Join us in opening the show with coffee and cakes. At A-CH, 75 Vulture St, West End from 10am onwards.
Thank you to all our fans and the photographers involved for making this show possible. We hope to see you there!
