It was so easy to believe her words when they were all she wanted to hear. Grief alone, she might have been able to bear after Pink, but it was the guilt that truly ate away at her. Guilt for letting her duties fall to the wayside. Guilt for all that Yellow did. Guilt for feeling anything at all. “I…I suppose you’re right.”
“I’ll never understand how she was able to move on so fast.” If they had it her way, it would be like Pink never existed at all. At times it made her wonder if Yellow would do the same to them if something ever happened – throw the memories away, refuse to ever shine a light on them again. What was the point of any of it, if the ones they cared about most would not bother to remember them?

Blue glanced up from beneath her cloak, the shadows doing little to hide the flash of guilt across her features. She so rarely got to meet with White anymore, she hated to waste their time speaking of her own shortcomings. But that was always the way of it, wasn’t it? White could cut through the matter of anything, see to the heart of her thoughts, her concerns. She breathed a soft sigh, gaze falling once more to her fidgeting hands.
“…She already does so much for me.” Yellow never spoke of it; she merely took on the duties herself as the grief became too much. Colony after colony fell before her while it was all Blue could do to see her court every now and then. Even their meetings were tedious, as White said; only the thought of Yellow’s disappointment managed to drag her to the councils. “I am…sorry. That I can’t do more. These meetings…it feels as though they’re the least I can do.”
