Spoilers for chapters 1445+ of Turning.
Duke Peletta didn’t seem the least bit nervous. Seeing him sitting there leisurely with his arms crossed made his hands itch to slap him across the face.
You’d think he’d notice his glare after he’d been staring at him for this long, but the man seemed oblivious, his mind clearly elsewhere.
When he turned his head to follow Kishiar La Orr’s gaze, he saw someone standing at the back of the gallery.
A member of the Cavalry with a gloomy, pale expression.
Yuder Aile, the Duke of Peletta’s «Black Dog», was standing there.
Judging by the fact that he was standing in uniform and armed, he hadn’t come as a member of the audience; it seemed he’d been assigned to maintain order.
And he, too, was staring at Kishiar La Orr, completely oblivious to Kachian’s gaze.
They couldn’t possibly be having a conversation on a street like this—so what kind of sinister scheme were they plotting, staring at each other like that?
I love that the Yuder and Kishiar can just admire each other, while others will think that they are mentally making some kind of plans 😄 (of course they can do both)
