43. Has your character ever had a dependent figure who was not related to them?

yes, and he’s always willing to help anyone who needs someone to depend on. even if it hurts him.

10. Does your character feel more comfortable with more clothing, or with less clothing?

he’s not one to lounge around naked but he doesn’t have particularly bad body image. is more comfortable with either depending on the cirucumstance.

20. In what ways does your character compare themselves to others? Do they do this for the sake of self-validation, or self-criticism?

he definitely compares himself to other great scientists and often criticizes his work because of this comparison. perhaps this is why he never accomplishes his work.

30. What does your character find repulsive or disgusting?

he doesn’t have any particular things he finds specifically gross, just the average things, bugs, human waste, ect.

40. How does your character treat people in service jobs?

with respect. he in his right mind can’t image being rude to someone while using a service they are providing.

3. What is/was your character’s relationship with their father like?

benjamin came from a house of excellence, parents: lawyers, brothers: doctors and him.. well.. he had a passion for science.. just not the right science. somehow physics wasn’t enough for good ol’ dad. ‘you could’ve gone into medicine like your brothers, done useful science.’ considering he was the youngest.. he was already the runt.. and after the.. accident.. benjamin caused, he’s no longer welcome in the family home. 

12. In what situation was your character the most calm they’ve ever been?

he doesn’t recall such a moment. or if it existed, it wasn’t memorable, simply relaxing, reading ect. 

22. What does your character like in other people?

the ability to adapt to change, open mindedness, intelligence, humor.

42. Has your character ever had a parental figure who was not related to them?

he would often sit with his physics professor when he was in college.. after being kicked out he really needed the fatherly figure to tell him everything was okay. but after opening up and explaining what had happened.. the professor refused to speak with him any further outside of class.. he doesn’t trust people his own age because of this.

“Right okay….but I’m supposed to -” Freya looked up at him confused at his sudden outburst. “Look…Professor….I’m just here to drop this off and meet with Professor Blake, I can’t leave and have it be a reflection on my mark. I’m a straight A student and I need to keep it that way.” 

“they’re not here! no one comes here!” he yells once again, shaking his head. “i’ll take the blame if you get a bad mark for this, but no one has been here. i don’t share.” he motioned to where he’s been sleeping, and how messy the room was in general. “i work in here, no one is allowed in here.”

“I didn’t even say anything and I was being super quiet. How did you even hear me?” He asked and shrugged. “Anyway, are you alright? You seem…weird.”  

“this is my office, this is my space, of course i noticed you. what do you- what do you want?” he spoke quickly, not caring if he was coherent or not. “i’m fine.”

She could sense the anger from across the room, and held back, one hand gripped on the door in case she needed to make a sudden the exit. As the chalk hit the wall she involuntarily ducked, cringing from the sudden action, but even as he collapsed into the chair she kept her distance. “Are you alright Professor? Do you want me to go and get someone?”. Her voice was hesitant, quiet, careful, the voice you used when you were trying to stop someone from jumping off a building,  and the whole time she stayed a fair distance from the professor

“i’m fine..” he mutters, sighing softly. “i don’t need anyone.. i just.. i haven’t slept in a few days.. i’m a little stressed.” he glanced away from her now, eyes trained on nothing in particular. “what do you need?”

“Gee, someone’s grumpy,” Everett teased, walking into Benjamin’s office anyway. “I thought I’d bring you some coffee,” he continued, setting down a to-go cup onto the desk. “I mean–you like coffee, right?”

“Of course i like coffee.” the boy mutters, speaking a tad faster than usual. “th-thankyou..” he mutters, drinking the whole cup in one go and turning back to his blackboard. “you can go now.”

She had been looking for the professor in particular. Something about the case that she was reading which hadn’t quite made sense to her. Something about angles and speed of trajectories, and when she’d gone to her tutor, he’d pointed her in the direction of the physics department, with something vague about how they’d know more than he did. Which was hardly helpful, but regardless, she’d ended up on the other side of campus, her hand resting on the door to push it open in what she had thought was quiet, finding the professor next to the blackboard. “Professor Leighton?” she asked, staying at the back of the hall. “Professor King sent me your way. He said that you might be able to help me”

“do i look like i have time to help you right now?!” he snaps, fingers shaking vigorously. “i’m busy.” suddenly he threw the chalk, it hitting the wall with a force much stronger  than he knew he was capable of, collapsing into his chair now. “okay.. okay.. what do you need?”

“ Benjamin – speak to me. ” Camila crossed her arms. There was no way she was leaving him in this state. She watched him write all over the chalkboard and let out a soft sigh. “ You need some air. ”

“i can breathe just fine.” he mutters, fingers moving from one end of the chalk board to the other. “get out, get out, get out.. you’re a distraction.. everyone.. distracting.. get out..”

“Um…okay, I’m just dropping off something for Professor Blake… I think She’s sharing this office with the damage done to the history department…?”

“no one’s here, no one comes here.” he mutters, chalk breaking under his strained grip. “i told you to get out!” he yells suddenly.

“Geez, okay,” Scout muttered, frowning slightly. “Just thought I’d check on you.”

“i’m fine. i need to concentrate.” he mutters, buzzing slightly from all the coffee. “so, now that that’s cleared up, get out.”

“the same person i always vote for. i’ve got the herb vote down.”

everything was rather quiet now.. hushed talking, the occasional ‘bing!’ of someone’s phone.. but other than that.. quiet. so once a sound rung in his ears he wasn’t sure if it had actually happened or not.. but he couldn’t help himself, he pushed open the door, the same sound reassuring him what had happened had in fact happened. he walked out into the rain.. and of course.. he saw a figure sat on the ground. 

he crouched down to reach their height, barely hearing whimpers and other noises that resembled crying over the storm’s own loud crackling. “hey..” he gently placed a hand on the boy’s knee. “what’s wrong?”
