Flirty, charming, sarcastic, likes animals and machines more than people as she knows they're more trustworthy, has a soft spot for ghouls, good with guns but prefers to talk her way out of most situations, smarter than she looks but sometimes plays dumb, near-sighted, generally a good person and tries to do the right thing but don't piss her off, likes country music and the old west, had an eclectic life; while roaming the wastes she may have taken a bounty or two or ran the occasional con but truthfully she just wants to find a place to call home.

"Men aren't trustworthy, what they are for is to have some fun; they're there to manipulate, to have a roll in the hay, to hold your stuff or die for you in a fight but they aren't really someone you can ever truly rely on. Machines on the other hand were pure, built for one purpose and without the ability to ever betray you, and if they did? Well that was either a glitch or a purposeful thing created by a human. You could always count on a bot or an animal, but men, men were best left for the less serious parts of life because if you ever let them in they'd just break your heart."

[REDACTED] was a new resident to Sanctuary Hills and was in the middle of unpacking when the sirens went off. She had a low level office military job which is why she had been put on the pre-selected list for entry to Vault 111. She managed to get to the vault and was frozen. About six years before Nate/Nora were fully awoken from their cryogenic sleep, [REDACTED]'s pod failed and opened. At first she wanted to go back to cryogenic sleep because she believed the outside world must be poison, but all the pods without living people in them no longer functioned. She also considered opening the pods of the other people in order to not be alone but decided against it. Ultimately she made her way out of the vault and into the wasteland where she was promptly abducted by raiders. She spent some time as their prisoner but eventually became one of them, she doesn't remember a specific moment, it just seemed to happen so gradually. She spent years as a raider doing whatever she could to survive until one day during a brutal battle between tribes she was hit in the head and left for dead. When she awoke her memory was in pieces and she couldn't remember who she really was. Wandering for a few days she stumbled onto a stash of old world books and magazines which all felt very familiar, having slightly lost her mind due to both physical and mental trauma, she forgot both her pre-war life as well as her time as a raider and remodelled herself on the femme fatals of the old world detective novels she'd read and thus Tragedy Jones was born. She meets the player when she is introduced by Nick Valentine whom she had sought out to solve her mysterious backstory.

"You can call me Tragedy. It's not my real name, but it's a word I read in a book once, burnt cover and mouldy pages, it was the very first book I remember reading. Funny, I can't recall what it was about, the only thing I remember is the word, 'tragedy.' I wished it was my name. Now it is."
