Remember that before we threw glitter, they threw stones and bottles on cops who came to “break some fags”. Remember the time, not so long ago, when we were registered, banned from several professions, when we were classified as mentally ill, deviant. Remember the fear. Remember the oppression. Remember the anger. Remember the courage. In fact, remember your elders. ⠀ Remember that if today you can afford the luxury of not caring, it’s precisely because a bunch of “queens” dared to intervene.⠀ Remember that the fight is not over. Remember the manif pour tous*, the assaults, the murders and the broken faces. Remember that you have to get involved. Remember that “having balls” has nothing to do with your so-called masculinity.
*Name of the movement of people who protested against gay marriage in France. Although gay marriage has been legalised, they still exist and contest the rights of gay people, especially when it comes to marriage and adoption.
