#ngl as someone who grew up without being exposed to any brand of christianity i could not tell u which is which or what is different #what annoys me is when people say catholic guilt and it's literally a jewish character where it's explicitly stated theyre jewish #repeatedly. constantly. like wow. u did zero research huh. u know 0.2 things about this character. apparently. u had ONE JOB. FACT CHECK!!!#ppl use Catholic Guilt as a stand in for “being a human is weird and i feel ashamed so this character probably also does”#someone should really make a comprehensive guide for writers on what the different religious guilt would manifest as #otherwise it's gonna keep being a catch all for“i feel weird about my body/sex/autonomy/family/whether i'm evil/sexuality/afterlife/etc”#and like. everybody feels weird about all of those things #those things are all weird experiences and nobody is normal about any of them
