DAY 1 in Lanzarote
[Monday 24th June 2019]
9am......We had a semi early start, packing all the last bits and making sure my Spanish dictionary is on me. We then travelled to Gatwick airport via train. We went through security and sadly had to throw away a few of my liquids 😩😒
(On the train to Gatwick with mi madre)
(Finally on the plane)
We took off from London at 1:25pm and Landed at Arrecife Airport at 5:40pm,(journey was 4 hours) there isn’t a time difference between London and Lanzarote so there wasn’t any confusion . At the airport is where I was first exposed to some Spanish.... luckily I’ve brushed up on my numbers and how to ask for directions.
We had prepaid for a bus shuttle to our hotel (Arrecife Gran Hotel and Spa), when I asked where to find our shuttle, I was told to find “Parada de autobús cincuenta y dos”, I assumed the woman said we should go to bus stand 52 and I was right 👏🏾👏🏾 [See vídeo for more]
15 mins later we reached our hotel and it looked really tall 😂😂 and luxurious as it should be. We checked in and got our room keys and looked around the hotel. Two words: Absolutely breathtaking!
(Pictures of the room key and our room)
After all the ooos and the aaass, we went out for dinner and I ordered for ‘tres Salchipapas 🍟 con bebidas 🥤’. It literally only cost €3,99 each 👏🏾
Salchipapas is chips loaded with different sauces, chorizo and grated cheese. ¡Muy delicioso! 🤤
After all of that, my boyfriend (Emmanuel) and I decided to walk along the beach outside the hotel called Playa Del Reducto
We played about in the water and on the sand, eventually we came across some cute Spanish writing in the sand obviously left by another couple and decided to take some pictures with it. Thought it would be nice to share it with you all !
(Me trying to be cute and candid)
Anyway Hasta mañana! ❤️❤️
Final week of Spanish for beginners!
Everything worked in my favour as I will be spending my final week of the course in Lanzarote, Spain. Follow me on my trip and see how I get on with speaking the language and finding my way around :)

Day 7
Most Young Adults: I got bored so I threw a party and got drunk and had sex
Me: I got bored so I practiced the Spanish alphabet LMAO
The capacity to learn is a gift; the ability to learn is a skill; the willingness to learn is a choice
Brian Herbert (2000)
This quote is from the book ‘House Harkonnen’ written by one of my favourite authors. This quote is what I wake up to every morning and has helped encourage me to go out of my comfort zone and study Spanish.
