MY STACK
As requested here is a detailed list of all the supplements and vitamins I take on a daily basis to compensate for regular intake of methamphetamine. All of these suggestions are well established (legal) products but please do your own research. Use examine.com to fact check any chemical available for human consumption.
CORE HARM REDUCTION STACK (DOSE TWICE DAILY AM/PM)
Chelated Magnesium - 200mg per dose. I use Doctor’s Best brand, but whatever you get be sure to use high absorption “Chelated” and “NOT BUFFERED”. High absorption magnesium contains elemental magnesium chelated with the amino acids glycine and lysine. This helps cells produce metabolic energy and helps you maintain a healthy heartbeat. Also reduces clenched jaw and grinding of teeth.
Green Tea - 500mg per dose. Green Tea’s benefits are attributed to its catechin polyphenols, particularly EGCG (epigallocatchin gallate), a powerful antioxidant. I have no doubt that on top of promoting overall health, taking green tea helps reduce the negative aspects of come-downs. Another product known as L-Thenanine (Suntheanine) provides a lot of the same benefits.
Acetyl L-Carnitine (ALCAR) - 500mg per dose. This is a key amino acid that provides antioxidant protection and “energizes the mind”. Another variant commonly taken as an alternative or in combination is R-Lipoic Acid (R-ALA).
N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) - 600mg. A sulfur-containing amino acid that acts as a stabilizer for the formation of protein structures, this is known to help reduce “skin picking” and help promote gluthione which in turn reduces irritability and agitation common among stim users on their way down. Also protects your liver and kidneys from toxicity. If you drink a lot this is extra good for you.
Ubiquinol/CoQ10 - 50mg per dose. Another potent antioxidant, this one amps up your electron transport chain and strengthens mitochondrial physiology, allowing you to generate more ATP which any body builder will confirm is our body’s primary energy source. It’s good for cardiovascular health. Note that Ubiquinol is the more bioavailable version of CoQ10 so it’s preferable to Ubiquinone, the version of CoQ10.
VESSEL CARE by Metagenics - 1 tablet per dose. This is the only “multi-vitamin” product in my stack. You can find other products with similar formulas or just buy the base vitamins. But I find that this one works well for me, particularly because it is formulated with L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate which is an alternative to typical Folic Acid, a supplement that is important but depending on genetic factors can cause problems with the methylation cycle. Vessel Care also contains Vitamin B12, B6, Zinc, Trimethlglycine, Choline, and Riboflavin.
Bacopa - 500mg per dose. Bacopa Monnieri is a natural adaptogen which means it helps stabilize your physiological processes and decreases cellular sensitivity when your mind and body are under a lot of stress (e.g. spun out for days with little or no sleep). It also has antioxidant properties and in the nootropics crowd it’s thought to support learning, cognition, and memory.
Turmeric Curcumin (w/BioPerine) = 500mg per dose. Turmeric is the yellow spice that gives flavor to curried dishes, which is why India has a lower incidence of Alzhiemer’s and Parkinson’s – because this “spice” has been proven to be neuroprotective, particularly for methamphetamine users.
Selenium - 100mcg per dose (NOTE: mcg is NOT the same as mg, don’t confuse the two). A trace mineral that has been proven to be neuroprotective, reducing brain damage caused by meth in multiple studies. Naturally found in various foods, Brazil Nuts contain high amounts Selenium. But be careful about your dosage, keeping it below 200mcg per day – at high levels, over time Selenium becomes toxic and in extreme cases it can even be fatal.
L-Arginine - 500mg per dose. Amino acid that stimulates the production of nitric oxide which supports vasodilation. Keeps your heart strong and reduces “stim dick”. It ain’t Viagra, but it will help.
N-Acetyl-Tyrosine - 350mg per dose. L-Tyrosine is a non-essential amino acid known as the best/most effective supplement for stimulating dopamine production but you can also try other precursors such as DL-phenylalanine, which studies have shown is helpful for meth users.
Alpha GPC/Choline - 300mg per dose. This is a natural physiological precursor to acetyl-choline, a neurotransmitter that is involved in memory and other cognitive functions. Good for the brain.
PQQ - 20mg per dose. Considered a compliment to Ubiquinol, Pyrroloquinoline is another antioxidant that promotes cognitive and cardio support and increased energy production.
Taurine - 1000Mg per dose. Helps take the edge off. Taurine is an amino acid that has been found to be important in the formation of bile salts, cell membrane stabilization, and eye health. Taurine is well known for its role in the modulation of neurotransmitter activity and its relaxing effect on the mood.
Bayer Aspirin - 350mg per dose. Regular old aspirin has been proven to have great health benefits across the board. Two a day is a good thing.
OMEGA-3′s - 1200 mg per dose. Look up Fish Oil, it’s pretty popular and there is strong evidence that it’s good for your brain and you heart. Enough said.
ONCE DAILY (AT BEDTIME)
Vitamin C - 500mg (or more). If you go to the ER with an over dose of meth they will typically give you an IV of vitamin C, because it’s a unique molecule that is particularly adept at gathering up all the toxic elements in your system resulting from drugs and flushing it out in your pee.
Melatonin - 3mg - 5mg. Helps you sleep with the added benefit of being neuroprotective. Some studies have shown that it also helps reduce tolerance to amphetamines. Over the counter and cheap, melatonin is a milder alternative to benzos. Just keep your dosage low and try to skip a couple days a week, there are risks but only if you abuse long term.
OTHER SUGGESTIONS
Every brain is different and you may respond differently than I do to my stack. I would also suggest trying:
Vinpocetine (Periwinkle), St. John’s Wort, Kelp, Hawthorne, Adrenal Complex, Grape Seed Extract, TMG (Trimethylglycine), Horny Goat Weed, Uridine, Sulbutiamine, Centrophenoxine, and many others I won’t list here.
