It genuinely is crazy to me how many Succession watchers have to constantly say "they're bad people" like... yeah that's kind of the point of the whole series innit. You do not have to be huge brained to understand that Roman psychologically torturing a child by tearing up a 5 million dollar check in the pilot is something a "good person" wouldn't do. But the fact that they're all shown to be deeply human is also the point. Why are you more concerned about keeping up appearances and not wanting to seem like a bad person for liking shows about bad people instead of engaging with the text and WHY the show uses the themes it does. How capitalism creatures a culture primed for such familial abuse and how their traumas play out on such a devastatingly large scale through the use of wealth and media organizations. Why are you so afraid of showing a genuine not irony poisoned emotion evoked by a seen that is portrayed empathetically.
