Recent BY chapter definitely does not disprove the idea I've had that Shadow Milk might have helped instigate the other beasts falling (though they were probably already miserable either way). But imagine if he did it because in his own way he thought that would help them. That abandoning their purpose and wreaking havoc was a way to break free from the witches that had put them there with this single purpose and for them to be free. So he decided to do that, and on the other end of the spectrum you got silent salt who also decided on his own what to do about their issues but in a much more peaceful manner. And both these cookies did not communicate their ideas to the others before acting on them

My mind is so stuck on Shadow Milk redemption,,, Shadow Milk finally breaking under the support being offered by Pure Vanilla and just. Slowly starting to doubt his choices. Slowly getting hope that there's a better way, Slowly relearning compassion. And it's hard. It's really hard and sometimes he wants to give up or get angry or cause pain again but then he turns around and Pure Vanilla is there to listen and to hold him if he wants to and he's surprised but it helps. Somewhere deep inside he might still have the same wishes from when he was the fount. Unearthing those also means acknowledging he failed in the worst way. All those people he hurt, including how badly he fucked up PV, and he can't undo most of what he's done at this point, but he tries to face it- And he has to admit the way he acted was not correct after all. That while being justified in his anger, it is no excuse for his actions. But he also ends up learning what love is, and he starts turning a new leaf. Forever tainted by the past, but this time headed towards a different future
