溺死

“I’d hope so,” Cliff muttered with a shrug, though he couldn’t help but noticed how tense the blonde was - and though he didn’t necessarily like to show he cared, he still always felt like the type of person to ask. “Something tells me you’re having a worse day than me.”

“You left before you could see?” She asked, not really caring about that part but she knew it wouldn’t have hurt to ask, she hoped. Bird raised her brow, confused. “Why is that?” She raised her brow, trying to figure out what vibe she was giving to see if she could fix it before someone she knew saw her.

“Great then! I have a good feeling that it won’t rain.. might be a tad cloudy, but no rain.” 

It wasn’t the first time he had damaged the car his boss sent him to steal; most of the time he just got away with a warning. There was something off about him though, from the moment he heard him over the phone - almost as though his voice had been laced with fear. So Cliff delivering the car with a few minor damages was the cherry on top; and it got him the bruise that covered his left eye. After checking in with his mother, Cliff returned to campus for the only class he had that day, however, it wasn’t for another few hours. As he turned from his car he came face-to-face with another, a sigh leaving his mouth as he swung his bag over his shoulder. “Bar fight,” he muttered after catching their gaze on his bruise. 

Bird’s day already been hell for her from a voicemail from her dad and waking up late, missing her favourite class, she was ruling the day as over and planned on going somewhere, anywhere that was off-campus so she could think better. The thought briefly left her when she came face-to-face with someone with a bruised eye. “Do they look worst than you?” She wondered, too stress to be anxious.

“I’m sure that it won’t rain on us, but if you want to be safe we could totally swim indoors.”

He hadn’t seen her in a while - it had definitely been long before he left for home in the middle of the summer. Silas knocked at her door, hoping to catch up with the girl; hoping she wouldn’t hate him for disappearing. “Hey, Bird. It’s your favorite person in the whole world.”

TRIGGERS: Verbal abuse, physical abuse mention

“Oh, no need to thank me, darling.” she says while shaking her head before smiling. “Hm.. I prefer outdoors.” 

“I sure hope so.” she says genuinely before nodding her head. “Oh, sure! It’ll be fun.” 

“I guess that’s good then.” She wasn’t sure what else to say on that topic. “Okay fine um…do you know where’s the best place to be alone on campus? Isolating myself is good for writing music.”

“Well, that’s a real nasty mark.. I hope that you’re okay and all.” she says a slight frown still apparent on her face. 

Jayson rose a brow, knowing there was more to this story than let on but it was obvious that this girl would rather keep it secret than tell the truth, Who was she to pry? “If that’s the case then I’d hope you fought back against whoever the hell did that to you.”

Hearing what she said shocked her a bit, she couldn’t imagine a girl like her fighting anyone, however she’s not one to judge. “A fight? Who would want to hurt you?” she questions gasping a bit. 

“Are you sure about that?” she questions examining the bruise once again. “I feel like a whole lot of people would worry as soon as they saw it.. do you mind me asking how you got it?” 

“If you say so.” Jayson wondered what could cause such an injury. “How’d you get that bruise anyway?”
