I really never expected to turn into a vintage sewing machine nerd, but in all fairness, it was likely bound to happen. I am already a nerd for older vehicles and vintage cameras. Once I started getting more into sewing, it was only a matter of time. The old machines are just so much better. And they are easy to fix. Same as a lot of other old shit.
I really wanna do a total teardown of one of my electric 15 clones and paint it. It seems like a fun project and would be really cool to get into. I do think maybe getting into repairing sewing machines could be a neat thing to get into in general. It's not like anyone here does it. My dream was to do camera repair and have a store and darkroom and shit, but that gets less and less likely to happen as time goes on. But sewing machines would be doable! Plus I could sell supplies, like the webbing and hardware I use to make collars, as well as other fabrics and things I can get from my supplier.
It's something that I have been sorta toying with for some time now. And clearly my collars aren't going to be big sellers. I need to start doing other gear as well, but money is tight and I haven't been able to order any supplies. My best buddy really wants me to succeed and has mentioned he would pay for materials for me so I can get things moving. I just don't know how much I wanna take help. But I should because he is good people and I know he means well.
Someday something will work out. It's just been a long road so far.
