Moments

Six months: My beautiful child is an easy, adaptable, and happy baby. He's incredibly generous with his smile and hearing him giggle absolutely melts my weak heart every single time. I still remember his first days of life when the only facial expression he'd unlocked was a frown. It was nearly impossible to get a smile out of him, and if it ever happened, it was purely accidental. Now, he approaches all his interactions with curiosity and a smile, leading me to believe that we succeeded in making him feel loved and safe to explore the world around him. I'm in awe of his sweet energy and I can only hope to nurture and guide him on a path of authenticity and purpose. I made him. I made him with more love than I knew existed. My heart feels beyond full.

Serendipity worked its magic beautifully last weekend when I bumped into my favourite singer in the subway—a mother's day present from the universe to me. I started a conversation with her and time froze for the entire encounter. After telling her about a special song she's written that kept me company all throughout my pregnancy, I received the warmest hug in the world. She is a real gem and a wonderful songwriter. I am happy she's had a great time on her vacation in this city. I hope she never stops writing music.
