Embryonic Heart Development, as part of a teaching film called “Congenital Malformations of the Heart”. It was made at the University of Washington. The authors were Drs. Robert H Rushmer and Richard H Blandau, released in 1951.

It was the start of the new cardiovascular block and the pleasant Dr. Crawford was going over the embryonic stages of the heart. Only two pages into the diagrams and it was clear that color coding and scribbles of madness just were not going to cut it for what he was describing. Then, as if he knew the information was not setting in our minds, Dr. Crawford asked the IT people to start “the video.” Never shrug off an old video; this animation did a fantastic job of showing what he described. Also, bonus points for being vintage.
