Conducted in September 2013 in Ganvie by Cameroonian photographer Angèle Etoundi Essamba, ‘Femmes de l’eau -Women of the Water’ is an artistic project composed of an exhibition, a video and a book highlighting the everyday life of the women living in this lakeside town, located 30 km from Cotonou, the capital of Benin.
