Mr. Suarez: Gregorio works with Cliff Holden as a partner in his scuba supply business. He speaks somewhat formally with very direct language but is a big kid at heart. He enjoys doing activities with his children and knowingly, lightheartedly causes trouble every so often to lift people’s mood. As much as he can tease in that way, when it comes to affection and relationships, his own the those of others, Gregorio is very earnest. He’s affectionate with wife and talks openly about love to the point where it can be more embarrassing for his kids than his actual jokes. But he’s reliable, hardworking, trustworthy, and two out of three of his sons want to be just like him when they grow up.

Mrs. Suarez: Irene is a stay-at-home mom for her set of three boys. While there’s admiration for her husband, there’s a special connection and level of comfort that her children have with her. She’s a patient, good-humored person and nothing gets past her. Most of the time her family will come talk to her if there’s anything on their mind, but if they attempt to avoid sharing their concerns, she’ll sniff it out regardless. She does what she can to manage everything in the household herself but does have to rely on Derek for help in some ways. Irene is polite yet friendly sounding. A lot of her children’s speaking pattern’s/phrasing comes from her.

Nicolas: The youngest member of the family. He's wildly energetic, careless, and causes trouble unintentionally because of those first two traits. Nicolas is the one son who does not want to be like his dad- he wants to be like Derek. His biggest brother is his best friend and hero. Nicolas remains glued to Derek nearly at all times when they’re in the same place. He’s the littlest kid around but Nicolas doesn’t like to be treated as the baby of the family; he wants to do what all the older people are doing. He attempts that by literally mimicking their words and actions. Most of the time he copies Derek, though occasionally he’ll echo other people who he likes. Nicolas’s affection for the rest of his family has his mom as the second greatest, then Jorge, and his dad is last.

Jorge: The middle son. By technical regards he's the least pleasant of the Suarez boys personality-wise. He's not nearly as cheerful and he gets frustrated/whiny more often than the others. But it's honestly warranted. He doesn't get the respect or freedom from being the oldest or the leniency and accommodation of the youngest. And Nicolas's wild abandon impacts Jorge as much as Derek, but while Nicolas acts out out love for his older brother the problems caused for Jorge come from indifference. It all makes Jorge pull away from his siblings some. Despite already being slightly world-weary at ten, Jorge is a sweet kid who does his best to listen to his parents and not get in the way.
