The presence of the war in the movie versus the book is such a fascinating hinge point. I remember another interview about Jones’ meeting with Miyazaki over the film where she spoke on her perception of people versus his. Jones said she sees bad people as more static whereas Miyazaki has enormous hope and belief that people change, or at least astonish us with a gesture of inherent goodness.... which adds up, since every DWJ conflict involves a total gremlin, usually the protagonist, taking a bite out of the world, whereas Miyazaki writes noble dreamers and idealists up against their local military industrial complex...

dieses brutalistische kleinod welches einen kindergarten und ein gemeindezentrum beherbergt befindet sich mitten in köln nippes. die bemerkenswerte fassadengestaltung von purem beton und roten fenster- und türrahmungen sowie die zergliederte struktur machen das bauwerk zu einem echten hingucker. die rote farbgestaltung erstreckt sich außerdem auf geländer, briefkästen und versorgungsöffnungen, so das dies zum schlüssigen Gesamteindruck beiträgt.
