–––––––––––AT THE MENTION of her charm, it has evelyn laughing. not in a mean way, just in a far too amused way for sure. then again, it was who bella was. especially at a party. so at her statement, it has evelyn laughing again, taking a too long sip of her drink, hoping not to have to defend bella. she knew he’d give her a look, but evelyn easily waived it away.        ‘ come on. ’          she said, rolling her eyes, nudging bella.                ‘ he’s cute. and i guess you could say i’m tryna climb him. ’             she knew she wanted to leave with him, she was just amused at how bella handled it.

her eyes tore away from the happy couple to aiden who had taken in her hand with his, a seemingly attempt to make her feel less shitty than she already was. amelie could only give him a weary smile as he gave his thoughts on the matter, the blonde knew that her pain and sadness was only temporary but it didn’t mean it would hurt any less. “pain is growth.” repeating his words as a reminder that she’ll eventually move on and be happier even without him in her life. “i feel like my heart was ripped out of my chest, aiden. it hurts so much.” her voice strained as she chuckled bitterly, more tears streaming down as the blonde tried to control her feelings. 

           it seemed that most of her encounters possessed some component where she had to do damage control so people didn’t harbor any UNACCOUNTED anger towards her. ‘ it holds some level of threat, but our parents would never follow through. my siblings are just batshit crazy. ’ rosario shrugged her shoulders, taking a swig of her drink, a CONTENT sigh exiting her lips, grateful for the liquor calming down her nerves. as she saw the sudden interest in her friend, common sense led the way to the assumption. ‘ jason ? we go way back. he’s the guy hosting the party. i think he’s leaving to get more alcohol. ’

–––––––––––THE STORY’S AMUSING, leaving evelyn more interested in it than the boy she had found herself attached to.       ‘ how do you always come across the drama at these parties ? i really should stick with you more often. ’        she pointed out, taking a sip of her drink, more amused. she always did know bella to be that sort of person, but it always presented itself to be more true in moments like this.        ‘ oh come on, don’t be mean, bella. he’s a cutie. ’        evelyn points out. it’s funny to see how they always seem to talk about the people she drags around like they weren’t standing right there.         ‘ found him while i was getting drinks and you were dealing with this drama. ’

            expression remained STOIC as she observed the other’s mannerisms, already deducing that she was the type of person to enjoy the chaos they create. ‘ let me guess, she read you the entitled kid’s riot act, said something about our dad ending whatever career you’ll get into ? ’ she asked, UNFAZED by this new yet predictable information. feeling a light tap on her shoulder of a friend handing her the drink she asked to hold moments ago saying that he was going to leave. bidding a quick goodbye, she returned her attention to the other, ‘ uh, thanks ? i think. ’

                despite the shared blood, david has always been distant from rex. knows very little about what goes on in his life & has never really cared to indulge. that flashy lifestyle had never shown any appeal to him –– no matter how badly his parents wanted it for him. has seen the aftermath of what it all can do ; can’t remember the last time he’d seen his brother in a healthy relationship. the girls he entrapped were always golden –– undeserving of his careless antics.

bella is no exception. if anything, david favors her. thinks she’s bright & funny, completely out of the realm of what his brother could possibly appreciate. can’t seem to figure out what she sees in rex ; chalks it up to the flashy appeal. tongue grazes over the expanse of his lesser lip, gaze nervously fluttering around the room before falling back upon her. hates to hear the words that hang heavily from her heart shaped lips. wishes there was more he could do to help when all he could ever provide was the half-comfort in words.

this was hardly bella’s first time wanting something a bunch of other girls wanted. the usual outcome of her desires was a true success. getting the thing, the boy. basking in the glory. and once things no longer felt shiny, moving on to something new. realistically, it was only a matter of time before someone no longer found found interest in her shine. to lessen the sting of the truth she constantly tried to tell herself it all made sense. after all, how could anyone really believe that one person was more worthy of their time tha fame and success?

          “all i really want right now is to be with the one i love.” amelie wiped her tears away as she watched from the distance. “but he’s in love with someone else.” the love of her life was with someone new and she had never seen him smile like that before. his eyes filled with joy and life while hers was filled sadness and tears. it was ironic how you could love someone so much but won’t be the one for you.

always had a knack for yearning after things that were just out of his reach, from the mundane such as his parents’ approval, to the more risqué such as his beloved brother’s fiancée. couldn’t quite tell if his infatuation for her was fueled by his distaste for his brother & his shining image –– how it compared so boldly to his own faltering visage. 

made a habit of making his presence known when she was around. sauntering into the room the moment his brother leaves it ; this time around, the air thick with tension. wasn’t quite sure what had anchored the two down lately – seemed as though there always seemed to be a problem. figures it has to do with her lover constantly on the road ; the media incessant on pulling them apart. perches himself atop the armrest of the leather sofa in the living room, glancing over at the distraught femme.     ‘  everything alright ? not to pry but, uh, things seem kind of tense between you two.   ‘

bella could hardly ever admit that she was wrong. but it was times like these when she was starting to think she was wrong about her and rex. it was harder than she initially thought to be apart so often. while dating a rock star provided her with the adventure she craved in life, it also fed into her insecurities. it was hard feeling like she had chosen to be with him while he had chosen to be with music.

maleah didn’t know what to say. ‘hey, we shared probably one of the hottest kisses i’ve ever had and you seemed to have forgotten all about it.’  even if they were best friends and told each other everything, this one thing seemed to be the most difficult thing for maleah to get out there. and the reasoning why is something she didn’t want to think too hard about. “hmm, i think you’ll have to wait fifteen to twenty minutes and ask again. see if i’m ready then.” the bartender sets their drinks down in front of them and maleah quickly swipes hers up to take a decent gulp from it. “what’s the plan for tonight?”
