What are the things that I like about yonobo is the impression that in many ways he is atypical or contrary. He looks like a gigantic baby but he’s built like a Mack truck. But his body language conveys a sense of bashfulness and cowardice. Despite this you see him do things that are actually rather brave.

From venturing into the monster infested lava pit for some pain medication . Volunteering to make himself a cannonball Because it will finally help save his home.

The change in both design angle and presentation along with body language I feel doesn’t give us a bridge between the cannon presentation to The still fascinating take that you have

Admittedly I guess it’s kind of hard you have to show him being heroic and kind like he was Maybe without much to contrast it against

Despite my personal preference though when you have the idea of going Badass Yunobo you convey it very well. You have expressed some disagreement with the character design of the Goron lips but you managed to keep the implication of them while changing the design. While also giving a look on the face that definitely says this kid is badass but not easily blemishless. Even the use of the cloak and the tag kind of gives the feeling as if he’s grown past his childishness. This is Yunobo the mighty, maybe living up to a legacy? Additional compliments for still keeping his natural blush marks with your unneglected take on his face. they are kind of muted or covered up by the implied injury for what I assume is blood on the side of his forehead and at his lip.

I’m not sure how I feel about the fingernails. I don’t feel bad about them it’s more those are there and then I’m thinking “does he originally have fingernails?” I’m unpacking but I think that makes me feel about his hands. Which means that it’s not just his muscles or his arms that characterize him. Which makes the design well considered and smart even if it’s going somewhere different. Which is actually what makes a good because you’re going somewhere different
