Complex Minds Require Simple Pleasures

Been feeling a tad mortal of late. Whilst straightening an overlooked corner of my kitchen I came across a fond memory tucked behind a can of Trader Joe's coffee. My folks strung dozens of these on (believe it or not) an all-aluminum Christmas tree that was set in a rotating base with a rotating color wheel off to the side. Oh cripes, didn't you ever watch Disney's "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea?" What does the 20,000 refer to? Oh muh gawd, I've opened a can of worms. Did you think it referred to depth? So folks, not that you asked: The distance of a League is 3.452 miles or 4.83 km, therefore one step whilst wearing 7-League Boots equals 24.63 miles. And so it follows that Verne’s novel “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” documents a sojourn of approximately 69,404 miles.
