In the studio today. These paintings are all part of my exploration into the many facets of being a woman. I've called this series of paintings ”Behind the Veil”. Each painting delves into an emotion, a struggle or maybe a joy I find interesting in each story that women has to tell. I am finally back in the studio painting and finishing pieces I had to lay aside. I’ve been sick on and off since Christmas, but finally I’m on the mend and ready to spend time in the studio. Latest piece and this one has surfaced slowly, but she finally told her story. Titled- Fluttering Doubts. A woman has many days where they doubt themselves and all that they are and do! Society makes us feel that we have to be strong and perfect all the time, which leaves us with a head full of anxiety and worry. I say be the best you can be and no more and let those flutterings of doubt fly away and leave us with acceptance and peace in who we are each day. 16 x 20 mixed media .
