Your support and generosity has been Amazing! In less than 30 days, I am half way towards my goal to raise enough money to Teach In South Africa. This is proof that every prayer, share and donation has the potential to change a life. Thank you...Please keep the support going. I'm almost there. Dr. Wanda and Gia Boo are South Africa bound.

Powerful Unity...the only thing that would have made this better is if we started our own bus company at the end of the boycott.

I didnāt even know there was such a thing as a suit techā¦. and.. SHE BLACK too. Love it!
Yes, as soon as I saw her name on the flight. We had a board out in the lab here, and they would list all the astronauts. I had already heard the first āsista,ā as I say, was going to space so right when my lead put the names up, I placed my name by Maeās; sheās my crew member. Everyone already knew the first black woman would be assigned to me.
I was proud to be the only black woman in my department. Like I said, I wanted to make sure she was taken care of, she was comfortable, and I wanted to be the one to do that. I didnāt want anybody else assigned to her. Iām sure they would have done a fabulous job too, not saying nobody else wasnāt good enough to take care of her. I just wanted to be the one. You know that kinship, that family feeling. Bottom line, I just wanted to make sure she was taken care of. I knew my stuff, and Iām really good at what I do.
Yes yes yes! Sistas taking care of sistas!Ā
Why place your aspirations on strip poles when were capable of aspiring to reach the Moon?
When will the injustice end????
But no one cares about about black womenās hair right?
Let white people that want to rock black hairstyles do whatever they want right?
I should share my culture with white people right?
Black women are just being assholes about whites with locs and dreads right?Ā
Let white folks in the natural hair movement right?Ā
Kay
Shit crazy
they should be able to be sued for workplace discrimination. Iād consult an attorney
^^^^^^^^^^^^ Agree with Above statement. It will teach them a lesson about diversity and āethnicā hair
The fight to be uniquely ourselves is a never ending battle that is always worth fighting....Black especially in its naturalness is Beautiful.

Beyond The Surface turned 1 today!
This book teaches black, Afro-descendent, Afro-Latina, and/or Garifuna girls how to positively describe different hair types instead of using the term ābad hairā. Fun illustrations were created to help describe different types of hair and hairstyles. This book was created to empower little girls so they can embrace and love their beautiful natural hair. This book calls for all of us to work as equal partners to encourage our girls by using proper terminology to describe their hair which is directly linked to their essence and self-esteem.

More literature like this is needed to keep children of color self esteem healthy and strong.
