It’s really so twisted that because Bernie is actually an honest politician, that fact becomes his downfall. All the commentators kept saying after the Brooklyn debate was how he made poor choices because he didn’t cater to the people that he needs to get the most votes from. Rather, he just spoke the truth with no ulterior motives. Unfortunately so many people are too ignorant to realize that most things Hillary was saying was not coming from a place of authenticity, but rather a strategy to get her the most votes. Many people don’t know that Hillary opposed gay marriage a while back, yet many lgbt+ people are voting for her. I’m not sure if she actually supports gay marriage now or just says she does to get more votes. Bernie has always been consistent in his opinions. Hillary is notoriously more popular with African Americans, however, Bernie was the one actively engaged and protesting in the civil rights movement in the 1960’s.
