I have to kill him || Self
“Bedrich, this is just like Alexander. He resents me.” Demetri paced, his hands starting to shake as the burn started to crawl through his abdomen.
“No it isn’t. I thought that Siobhan was like other demons and she has proven she isn’t. Just give Billie time.” Bedrich was seated, holding Leo in his lap and bouncing him lightly.
“He told me! He shut off his emotions and told me he resented me changing him. He hates me, I can feel it.” Demetri stopped and eyed the child as he made a small happy noise around the toy in his mouth.
“With his emotions off? You know that doesn’t mean anything. That isn’t who he really is.” Bedrich scoffed.
“Unless he acts while he has them off! Unless he feels that way and has a filter normally. I just... I’m terrified I won’t see the warning signs like with Alexander. He slaughtered me, Rich.” He sat down on the bed trying to hide the sweat beading on his brow from the pain.
“He isn’t going to kill you. He is different. For starters he couldn’t dagger Louis, he isn’t trained well enough.” Bedrich grinned like he had won.
“Don’t say that, if we let our guard down or assume he can’t, we won’t be ready when he does.” Demetri hugged himself, the burn spreading throughout him.
“ ‘Metri. Listen. Billie isn’t the same. He loves you, Lucifer just frightened him. That and you can be a bit rough sometimes. Maybe treat him like you would a child.” He shrugged and offered Leo to Demetri. Demetri gently took the child and hugged him lightly to his chest, feeling the burn ease.
“I don’t ever realize I am being... me until it’s too late and others are upset. You and Regina like me, have always lived with me, know me. Louis and Alexander did too. Billie... reacts so strange to me.” He handed Leo back to Bedrich, “I have to kill him. I can’t make the same mistake. I have to kill him.”
“No you don’t. You’re worrying too much about a small newborn. Just enjoy him. Teach him. Be a sire. Demetri?” He sat the baby down and knelt in front of Demetri, cupping his cheeks as Demetri started to wheeze, “ Demetri?”
“It aches.” Demetri whined as a burning pain lit his entire body up. He groaned lightly and collapsed off the bed, hugging his chest, bloody tears rolling down his cheeks. He started to sob and cough in agony as he lost track of time and the conversartion.
