betweenhellandearth bothered you.
Balthazar watched the man/demon in front of him, he wanted to, strangley, hug him. Wanted to say sorry for the things that he now had to live with - the feelings, the regret and all the pain that he had to live with because of his past. Balthazar swallowed. “Sucks doesn’t it?” he gave Crowley a small smile and a nudge on the shoulder, trying to think about how to even begin to talk about what he must be going through right now. He nodded simply. “Yeah… I suppose it is new to you - been knocking around a while now.” he gave Crowley another small smile and popped up another bootle of Jack Daniels. “We will probably need this.”
Crowley peered at the bottle, blinked in surprise before an honest laugh bubbled up from his throat.
"Honestly, Balthazar, that's the best anyone's done for me yet." Having these emotions, his humanity coming back, and yet broken by the demonic side of him. It was overwhelming, it was a lot of things. Perhaps drinking away his troubles wasn't the best way to be spending his time, but there was nothing more therapeutic. Maybe it was the demon side of him talking, but a bit of personal sin sounded like just the medicine he needed. So he downed the rest of his drink and offered the empty glass to be filled.

“Crowley…” Balthazar paused - “there’s something off about you…” he narrowed his eyes and then they widened in shock. “You’re… you’re part human… part demon…” he swallowed, walking over to the man. “I - I don’t know what to say…”
Knocking back the drink in his hand, Crowley pressed down the urge to sigh. At least, of everyone he could be having this conversation with again, Balthazar was one of the least frustrating. The man had good taste and new how to have fun. "Mm. Half-cured, apparently," he answered with a sardonic smile, setting his glass aside. "And you're alive. That's news."

My vision is starting to blur with all these starters. XD So I'm going to stop for now, but if you'd like one, go ahead and send me an ask, or you can start one yourself if you like. Just tag it "betweenhellandhearth" and I'll find it.

Of the hundreds of thousands of vile actions he'd committed, Crowley was almost certain that the torture of the sweet, naive angel in front of him had been one of his worst. It might have been one thing if it were someone like Naomi, or her goonies, but Crowley had known from the very beginning that Samandriel was far more innocent.
Remorse slammed into his chest, the weight of it hitting him like a freight train. Memories of the angel's screams echoed in his mind and for a moment, Crowley thought he might be sick with the intensity of it.
"Samandriel, isn't it?" Perhaps he should have at least learned the kid's name? If the god-knows-how-many-years-old angel could really be called a kid.

Sam Winchester. Crowley's jaw set, emotions pressing down on him as he tried to process what he was feeling. It was rather too much, more than he could handle right now with the constant stress of his consciousness, though that didn't mean he was about to show it.
"Hello Moose. Not here to finish the job, I assume." Anger warred inside of him. Here the hunter had been so insistent, so prepared to cured him, had gone through so much, and then he had left him like this, this state of limbo, struggling with his own existence.
Leave it to the Winchesters, he supposed. He fights it every step of the way, and they push on. The moment he's ready to give in, to offer himself, they let him down.

Of all the times he could have run into Lucifer again, it had to be now. It couldn't have been when he was at the height of his power, toting an angel-killing gun around, abilities growing by the day. No, it had to be now. Partially human, struggling to gain control of himself, walking the line between the desire of power and forgiveness.
"Lucifer."
His thoughts were racing, trying to pull together something, some means of survival. Or at least, some means of not getting stuck back on the rack that it had taken so much time, manipulation, and conniving for him to finally get off of.
Bloody hell, no weapons, no resources. All he had was his wit, and somehow he didn't think that'd get him far with this particular angel. "You're looking well." He tried anyway.
This must be Crowley, he thought. He’d never dwindled with the Hell spawns, but being the archangel he was, he knew who they were.
“Guess you thought wrong,” He answered, “I haven’t been on Heaven’s committee in a while.” He’d felt the large pull at his own Grace when all of the angels up above fell, but he himself hadn’t been affected by the downfall of Heaven.
Not a part of heaven. Crowley had always kept up with the word on the grapevine, listening in for information even when it wasn't directly relevant at the time. He knew of only a few angels that hadn't been a part of heaven before before all of this. Castiel, Lucifer, Balthazar, Anna, and Gabriel.
Obviously, he wasn't Castiel or Lucifer, nor Balthazar (sharing some interests and tastes with that particular angel, they'd run into each other more than once), and clearly not Anna.
"Gabriel, then."
lost Bobby…
Holy shit. Why do I suddenly ship Bobby/Crowley?

Crowley had never met the infamous trickster, but he could gather information easily enough. A part of Hell for so long, and having immersed himself in as much knowledge on the supernatural for as long as he could remember, it didn't take the former king long to recognize the signs of an angel.
He was still demon enough to sense the benevolent power which radiated from this creature. It was his instinct to want to flinch back, but he pressed down the urge.
"And here I thought that all the angels had fallen," he commented carefully, eyes flickering over the shorter man's form. He was on edge, itching for the gun that had been taken from him by the Winchesters, the old luger with the specially casted bullets.
Would it have hurt those boys to at least leave him with a bit of protection?

Meg cocked an eyebrow at the demon’s remark towards her hair.
Yeah, she had kind of put off dealing with that. Certainly, there was no question as to whether or not she missed her old hair — the darker, shorter and well-kept style that it was. It was so damaged now, though, not to mention the expense and tediousness of getting it all fixed. All of that effort. “Looks like I have. Been too busy to deal with that whole hair ordeal.” the black-eyed demon replied, a slight shrug of her shoulders that were practically shrouded with damaged locks of blonde. Meg exercised caution around Crowley, there wasn’t any doubt about that. Even if something about him — something about the vibe he gave of seemed unusual — she wouldn’t let he guard down. Still, curiosity was practically blooming inside of her.
“So, tell me, what’s the mighty King of Hell doing around these parts, hmm?”
King of Hell. Not anymore. He'd lost that with the fourth or fifth blood injection, when humanity began to take over. Common sense giving away to emotion. Memories of his past actions flooding his mind and filling him with remorse.
"Personal matters, darling. Nothing to worry your pretty little head about."
He'd been so close. Finally given in, offered himself for the next injection. He was ready for it. To cleanse his soul and begin down a new path But they stopped. And now he danced the line, and he wasn't sure where he was going.
Just looking at Meg brought back the memories of her torture. If he sought forgiveness, should it start with her? Somehow, he doubted he'd find it in her. In anyone.
"So why don't you run off and go find yourself another pretty boy to play with?"

There was something different about him. Something Crowley couldn't quite put his finger on. This wasn't the man that cuffed him and fought him, prepared to do whatever it takes to bring him down.
There was something softer now, about Dean Winchester, and Crowley wasn't certain how he felt about it. His own emotions were still raging inside him, demon and human, at war with one another.
"Winchester," he spoke the name with caution. He wouldn't past the Dean he knew to come and kill him now, despite the fact that he was partially human now. He did his best not to underestimate anyone.
That's what had gotten him here in the first place.
+betweenhellandearth
If there was anyone Meg didn’t trust, it was Crowley. The past the two demons had together, well… it was a lot less than peachy, and thinking that was already an understatement in some weird contemplative way of stating it.
The first response Meg expected to get from the crossroads demon was something more insulting, more virulent; yet, the reply she received was not as anticipated. Hmm. What a surprise.
“Oh, so we’re on a first-name basis now, are we? How sweet.”
“Though, I’ve got to say. You’re looking different than usual. Did you get a haircut?”
Play it close to the vest. Reveal nothing. To give information was to provide those around you with a weapon. And yet Crowley knew he was off. He was not himself right now. Part of his mind, the demon part, snapped at him to attack her, take her down, ensure his own survival.
The human part kept him in place. Watching. Waiting, though for what he wasn't sure.
He forced a smile onto his face, cautious, wishing he had a weapon. Just in case. He didn't know what would happen to him at this point if he died. Purgatory? Back to Hell? Heaven?
That last one was doubtful.
And so he played it cool. "Kind of you to notice. Kept the blond, I see."

He recognized her. Vaguely. She had something to do with the Winchesters and that alone set him on edge. They had a history, after all, and there was no telling what those two idiots had told their friends about him.
His fingers twitched, watching the redhead closely, licking his lips. He didn't have weapons on him, the Winchesters had taken those from him. He had spells, though few ingredients he could actually use.
"Bonsoir."
+betweenhellandearth
Well, this was certainly a sight to see.
The very King of Hell. Right there. Something about him seemed different, seemed… vulnerable. Oh, this was definitely different, and Meg, being the nosy one she was, just had to investigate.
“Crowley,” the black-eyed demon taunted in an overly friendly voice, not without the necessary sarcasm, “Lookin’ good.”
As if a terrible situation couldn't get any worse. Sometimes the world just decided to bend you over and screw you over every available surface.
There was a hard press on his chest, a dull ache that he was still struggling to grasp. Remorse. He could practically taste it when looking at her. Meg.
"Meg."
It probably said more than he would have liked that he didn't refer to her by his 'petname' for her.
