Seoni is SO pretty! Also, she's a bottomless pit. I think she thinks she's a bottom feeder; at least I don't have to worry about picking up after her :)

New betta home! (once I get the water parameters under control, that is)

Flash in the 3gal tank I picked up for free. Once he kicks this velvet parasite and it's no longer a hospital tanks, I really want to plant it with lots of tall green plants :D Also, his fins are looking sooooo much better after a round of melafix. Hopefully we won't be constantly fighting fin rot anymore now that I've diagnosed and am treating the real issue: velvet.

Both Flash and Sarrat take about 30 seconds to eat a pellet.  Sarrat’s are about half the size of Flash’s because she requires them softer and easier to deal with. Sarrat will stalk the pellet floating on the surface for a second or two before striking at it lightning fast.  She then proceeds to shake it like a dog and spit it out before chasing it down and catching it again.  THEN she actually eats it.  She does this 5 times every morning; I should get a video at some point. Flash will snag the pellet from the surface, “chew” for about 30 seconds, and then be ready for the next.  He will completely ignore the third one I try to feed him.

I can't get over how pretty Sarrat is!!

I also love my local mail service. The package said to leave it if there was no answer, but the guy came to the door and made sure I was here before getting the fish. He seemed appalled at the idea of leaving live fish sitting by a door and said “We would never have done that.” also, he had her sitting gingerly in the passenger seat and handled the package delicately giving it to me.

I couldn't find a boy I likes for my pretty steel blue girl, so I'm just getting her for now and I'll keep an eye out for a nice male a little closer to home :)

Fish Update So, Still waiting to hear back from the breeder of the black dragon butterfly.  They sent me an image of a pretty copper butterfly, but I can’t see if the color underneath is black or not...and I really want it to be.  They are checking for a male copper/dragon with more black and also for a super black girl. I emailed someone who had a super black male for sale and asked if they have any females available, still waiting on pictures. I also found the black butterfly above.  He’s really pretty and I may buy him instead if I don’t find a boy I really like.  I also emailed the breeder about a black butterfly female, which I would take in a heartbeat is she had solid colors.  Haven’t heard back about that yet, though. If I DO end up getting a sister to the black butterfly, I may end up with the black dragon above.  He’s gorgeous! We’ll see.  If I end up with a super black female and a male that will bring my fish purchase up to 3.  I have a 10 gallon at work with a red male, and I kinda really want to try guppies in with him once I re-do it, but maybe I can separate it and toss in the new male or the girls in instead.  I also have a 5 gal set up and a 2.5 gal set up.  The original plan was the new boy in the 5 gal and the girl in the 2.5, but maybe I’ll have to switch that...But I really want the male in the 5 gal.  I suppose I could research the possibilities of the girls and guppies in the 10, then the new boy in the 5 and the red veiltail in the 2.5.  Oh who knows!

More news is I’m considering the boy above.  He’s not as good as the other one, but still a black dragon butterfly and $5 cheaper if I’m the only bidder.  His auction ends in a couple of days, so we shall see!
