Bettas and aquascaping!

A lil before and after of my bedroom tank:D please ignore my stupid self on the left pic, it’s the only one I had lol.

Day 2 of cleaning the filthy ass bedroom tank, I swear the dirt in the gravel is never ending. Used a net to siphon out the shells of my assassin snail victims for an even cleaner look. I feel sorry for my fish but it’s better for them in the end of course, also hopefully my plants will finally start growing.

BEHOLD!! I have scrubbed all the algae off the glass (the back looked more like a lawn than glass). I have also removed every single rock and scrubbed the absolute devil out of them. The rocks also looked more like a nice lawn than actual rocks. I really missed seeing the grey rocks and brown wood in between all the plants, instead it was just green everywhere! Now that the rocks are gone I am finally able to really clean that sand (and seriously remove those pest snails), it’s absolutely filthy, soooo much dirt was hiding under them:O Btw if you ever get that green fuzzy algae wannabe lawn in your tank, a good toothbrush is all you need to scrub it off of anything😁

Got some new plants for my bedroom tank. Atm it looks like absolute shit due to nutrient problems I think, like not even frogbit will grow in it. I’ve been dosing more fertilizer and macro nutrients lately and that seems to be fixing the problem since the green algae has stopped growing and spreading.

Definitely do not regret buying this silly fish. Previous owner didn’t have room for it and all it did was hide. Its old tank didn’t have any plants in it and I think that may be why it didn’t do anything but hide. It has two caves in this tank that he only uses when I bring out the scary gravel vacuum 😂

Battling a bit of algae on the egeria densa😩 but anyway, here’s a pic of my murderous pearl gourami who killed his girlfriend in cold blood.

Finally got a phone that actually takes decent pictures! Today I cleaned up the jungle a bit. Trimmed off some leaves that had fallen prey to the malicious BBA and moved the vallisneria that was growing in the middle/front to the side of the tank:D
