"That's true, I guess. I'm actually kind of excited. And at least it's just for one night."

"You could try to get out of the party early? You'd still have to wear a dress, but at least not for as long."

"I get that your upset, I just don’t know what it has to do with me?"

"Nothing, sorry. I'm just...stressed. I can leave you alone, though. Sorry."

Marlene squinted at the portrait’s frame. “Yeah, there’s… something…” she trailed off. She moved her face closer to where the other girl had indicated.

Bethany squinted and adjusted her glasses. "Maybe we should try to get rid of it?"

She turned to look behind her, noticing for the first time that there was a rather large portrait staring at her. “Oh, how… odd,” she said, feeling foolish.

"Yeah, it is," Bethany said, moving closer to the portrait. "Can you, uh, tell what it is that's on it? It looks like a weird stain-ish thing, or something."

I –– there is a reason you’re a Ravenclaw, because that idea is brilliant. We should totally ask Dumbledore, he’d probably be down with it.

Thank you. Um, yeah, he probably would. We could ask him tonight, at dinner, if you want.

Um, the portrait of Circe. It looks like there's something weird on the frame, but I can't tell what it is. If it's anything.

That’s way too long, we should definitely come up with another reason to have a dinner like that.

We should have a 'Congratulations-You-Made-It-Through-a-Month-of-School' feast on October 1st. That's only about a week-ish from now.

The House Elves really are fantastic. Can’t wait till the Halloween feast is, to be honest.

Yeah, they do a really good job. Only a month and a half-ish until Halloween.

"Yay!" Maisie poured another one after Bethany drank that one. "Mooooooore? Because, I want more. I want m-mo-more."

"No, no, no! No more for you, you're drunk enough already." She took the drink from Maisie and drank it for her.

Maisie poured more glasses. “Here, more!”

"No, that's probably a bad idea," she said before realizing that if she drank it, Maisie couldn't. "Okay, fine."

"Because it’s amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing *hiccup*"

"Okay, Maisie." Bethany giggled, and then widened her eyes at the realization.

Maisie poured herself a glass and drank it. “So, is it great? Is it grand? Do you love it? Are you getting married?” She broke out into hysterical laughter.

Bethany gasped slightly. "It's weird. How did you drink so much? Why would I be getting married?" She took another sip of her firewhiskey.
