It's nice that loud noises don't stick to clothes like smells do. That would be really bad if they did.
noise pollution being less transient would drastically change our relationship with the infrastructure that produces it but I think in some small ways it could also be beautiful, like when you hang out with your friends around a bonfire then for the next few weeks your clothes smell like that night of hanging out with your friends. How would it feel if sound lingered in the same way? I imagine the day after an ecstatic rave, going about your life as usual but feeling the bass hum on your jacket reminding you of that joy, or of borrowing a friend's favourite scarf and hearing around your neck the faint imprint of the shows she attended, the loud cafe she frequents, something else so familiar you can't quite put your finger on that animates your subconscious for the rest of the conversation. It would also be really really funny if you could accidentally make your clothes sound like sex. like babe keep it down my wardrobe door is open. lol.
