You might be surprised to learn that Xenomorphs are very conscientious pet owners. Just because they’re deadly predators themselves doesn’t mean they don’t want to keep their beloved animal friends safe from harm at all times. That’s why they walk their dogs using Facehuggers as a harness and leash. And now you can do the same for your canine friends.

This awesomely geeky Alien Facehugger Dog Leash was designed and created by Orlando, FL-based FX shop Gotham City FX. It’s design to fit small to medium-sized dogs ranging from 15 to 35 pounds.

This leash connects with velcro around the neck and chest of the dog securing the Face Hugger to your pets back. The alien is made of foam and airbrush painted, the harness is a light weight but durable mesh. The leash is hidden within the tail of the alien and ends with a loops for easy walking.

These wonderful porcelain creatures are the work of Ukrainian artist duo Anya Stasenko and Slava Leontyev. Their exquisite, hand-painted pieces range in size from 4 cm (1.5 in) to 40 cm (~16 in) long. Although they’re clearly ceramic, they seem very animated and lively. No two animals are alike and each feels like a character from a fantastic story.

Let’s pay a visit to the Department of Awesome Anamorphic Artwork to explore more work by French artist Bernard Pras (previously featured here). Pras uses found objects of every imaginable sort to create awesome installations that appear to be nothing more than large, strangely organized piles of discarded containers, household objects, clothes, toys, packaged food, wrappers, plastic bags, and even dust. That is, unless you view each piece from one very specific location. Then all of the objects work together to form a recognizable image, often a portrait of a very familiar face from pop culture or the world of fine art such as Salvador Dalí, Vincent van Gogh and Snow White.

We love to look at these extraordinarily complex installations as what they’re meant to depict and then let our eyes wander to identify all of the objects that comprise that image. Breaking down these awesome optical illusions makes them (and the work that went into creating them) even more impressive.
