Iâm trying to accurately track this recording I made awhile ago, can anyone tell me the titles of these two Georgia Maq songs, they donât seem to be on any of her releases, Camp Copeâs album or her youtube videos...
1) Lyrics start âsee him, king of the club...â chorus is like âand you can draw your own lines between anything and youuuu...â
2) Lyrics start âItâs a question that I never learned to ask...â doesnât really have a chorus but includes some memorable lines like âsometimes making love is the only time I ever feel loved...â
Can provide more lyrics. Thanks.
My mum picked me up from the bus stop after school one time, I woulda been 13 or 14, and asked me about a piece of my sisterâs clothing that she had found stuffed in the bottom of one of my draws. I was mortified. She gave me an easy way out, suggesting that maybe she had mixed it up with my clothes when folding the washing. I agreed. This happened twice, both times I flatly denied having anything to do with it and I thought I got away with it. In retrospect, I was an idiot. Mums know. The fact of the matter was that pretty much as soon as I was old enough to be left at home alone, I was secretly wearing my sisterâs clothes. To this day no one but my mum (and possibly my dad, if she told him) knew about this. After I left home when I was 18, it was buying clothes online or from Savers and basically just wearing them in my room. Savers was/is a fucking haven. I was not at the point (and am still sort of not?) where buying ~womenâs clothes~ in person, anywhere else, was anything less than terrifying. But kudos to Savers for probably accidentally creating a shopping experience where I never felt judged or even noticed for this. The unisex change rooms helped. So anyway, I kept this thing secret through my teens and early twenties, partly because it clashed strongly with my extremely shy persona where I just wanted to blend in and not be noticed, and partly cause I saw it as weird and wrong. At the start I didnât really want to think about it at all, later on I decided it was fine but was a sort of sexual thing that I should only share with sexual partners. Only in the last five or so years I slowly realised I didnât want it to be a secret thing anymore. That it was totally fine to like clothes regardless of who they were made for. I think there were a few reasons for this. Among them was Hazel, whom I have been in a relationship with for over 5 yrs now, discovering the thing early on and being supportive/unperturbed. Another part of it I think has to do with my mental health over the last couple years but thatâs a tangent with a lot of words. And a motivating part of it was realising that if as a young teen I had seen a person in public like me as I am now, wearing a dress or whatever, maybe I wouldnât have felt so weird and wrong as I did then. If I can cause even the tiniest ripple to that effect, thatâd be nice. So yeah, just wanted to put this out there and give some context to a thing for some ppl. Enjoy.
A cool thing to do is buy a ticket for Sad Grrrls Fest cause it had the best festival line up of the year arrive there early at 1pm so sit in my car for a bit build up some anxiety then stay in the car for three hours cause the anxiety is getting more, cry a bit then drive home mostly just cause it's a venue I haven't been in :) this is actually the third time I've traveled to the reverence with a ticket for a gig and not gone in. same thing happen with the toff years ago but after I've been in a venue once it's usually fine then. I feel terrible cause I wanted to see p much every band on the line up. Just gonna lie on the couch n hug my cat now. Sorry but I have to let this miserable crap out somewhere and I figure here is where as few ppl as possible will see it these days. Enjoy.

I've felt really fed up with being shy for like 15 yrs but lately I feel like I'm gonna break. Too many times I feel like there was a potential good friendship and I just shut it down every time. At least a few times in the last 10 yrs or so ppl have gone out of their way to be friendly to me and try to get to know me, ppl I love and admire and desperately want to be friends with, but I ensure it goes nowhere. I love hazel and our relationship is good and fine and I love spending time with her. But she's not interested in music and we have differing taste in other things like food or movies and I just wanna sometimes do those things and talk about those things irl and talk about other things that friends talk about. I don't even know. Most of my life is good and fine and I don't think I'm depressed and I realise I'm really lucky in many ways and have a very easy life but I just feel shit and sad and frustrated sometimes to the point of tears about being shy and anxious and how it pushes ppl I love away. That's my whinge for the month. Thanks for read it.
Thanks to everyone who went out if their way to try to conversation with me. Love u. Life is great.
I was in savers the other day and waiting in the queue to try clothes on and this girl was trying on wedding dresses and came out to show her friend one dress and she looked amazing and it was a little big but her friend said she knew someone who could adjust it easily so she decided to get it and the whole time she looked really happy and people in the queue were like wow and thumbs up and nodding and smiling and saying how great she looked and she was really excited to be getting a wedding dress for $100 I think it was and she said she couldnât believe she was going to get a wedding dress this cheap the staff were standing around and it felt everyone was excited and happy for her. Good times.

Golden Plains Music Festival
I hadnât been to Golden Plains or Meredith Music Festival in a few years so it was cool to go back and everything was pretty much the same and good. Hazel didnât go because she went once and was not into it, and that was half the reason I had skipped the last few. This was the first time I had driven, having got my license the week before, and having previously gotten the bus. But as usual I was a bit early so a bad thing was I was going to camp with some friends but it didnât work out. After I had set up my tent I found out where they were camping and walked around that area a few times during the day but couldnât find them. So I was camped by myself and spent basically the entire festival by myself which is ok and a bit lonely but whatever. I only even spoke to one person. Briefly. Cool person Tabitha, who has an extreme talent for making ppl welcome and included, even ppl as inept at social interaction as me. Love u. The music was great. Highlights for me was Built to Spill, HTRK, Gold Class, Sampa the Great, Sleater-Kinney, Royal Headache. A crazy thing was during BTS, twice I thought âoh I hope they play [song]â and BOTH times they played the song I was thinking of NEXT in the set. That was weird and good. Iâm annoyed that I napped through U.S. Girls and Natalie Prass. I wear a dress on the second day of the festival and felt happy and good about it. 7/10

NY resolution check in
Ride bike to work more often - success. Apart from skipping a couple rides due to weather Iâve rode every day I said I would and actually made up the skipped days on other days. I even take the ~scenic route~ a few times so prob have done more riding than I resolved to do. Guesstimate Iâve been doing about 75k a week this yr so far.
Read more than half a book - nope : (
Leave the house more often for things other than work - nope : ( I went to a couple gigs but skipped a few too and havenât done anything else.

Top Ten January
Lets see how long me doing a top ten new music releases every month lasts.
1. Florist - The Birds Outside Sang BANDCAMP Iâve had Florist on a few lists before for split albums or epâs but this is her first really proper full album and itâs AMAZING. First contender for AOTY.
2. Naia Izumi - Soft Spoken Woman [EP] BANDCAMP Finding something I love by browsing all ânew arrivalsâ on bandcamp is like finding a needle in a haystack but Iâve found a few of my absolute favourites this way that I never would have otherwise come across so I keep trying it. As far as I can tell this is the first release from Naia Izumi and it totally blew me away. Somehow she manages to sing and play guitar like that at the same time and make it look easy. Canât wait to see more from her.
3. The Ocean Party - Mess & Noise Critics Poll 2015 BANDCAMP Good old reliable The Ocean Party release thier sixth album in five years that somehow sounds just like all thier other albums but also not stale at all but fresh and good. How do they do it.
4. Savages - Adore Life YOUTUBE Just watch the damn clip if you havenât already. This album is so solid.
5. Rihanna - ANTI Her vocals here... she could just be singing the alphabet on this album and Iâd still include.
6. Francis Plagne - Funeral Mutes BANDCAMP
7. Allan Kingdom - Northern Lights YOUTUBE
8. Best Available Technology - Running To You BANDCAMP
9. Eliza Hardy Jones - Because Become SOUNDCLOUD
10. Zack Sekoff - Remnants of a Winter Sun BANDCAMP
Fave Albums 2015
Apart from Crushing Loveâs albums all being at the top, every time I look at this list I could extremely change the order of it. Please freely disregard all my rambling about Crushing Love that Iâm sure no one wants to read, I canât help. Or of any of the other rambling. Bandcamp links where available, otherwise youtube links.
1. Crushing Love - Instruments I think this album is the most consistent and accessible CL release this year, and definitely the one Iâve listened to the most. Itâs fairly short and the production stays comparatively clean and avoids the abrasiveness of some of her other albums. Nearly every song gives me goosebumps and my fave changes but atm itâs âTo Be Honestâ. 2. Crushing Love - Grow Up, Be A Good Girl This album was released in June and it kinda kicked off a few months of barely listening to any music not released by CL. It was about at this time that it started to become incomprehensible to me that the person making this music could be a real person. I mean, as a person who tries to make music myself, the volume and quality of CLâs releases does my head in. Obviously the âqualityâ is subjective (apparently exceptionally so, since I seem to be literally the only person even buying her music according to the bandcamp album pages, which gives me an eerie feeling of being the victim of an elaborate practical joke where someone has developed a way of creating music that is extremely to my exact tastes but no one elseâs... but clearly that is absurd), but even if I considered her music mediocre, the volume/frequency of music being released is still difficult to wrap my head around. These are not particularly simple compositions. Taste in music aside, almost all the songs have fully fledged lyrics and seem to involve a bunch of normal music creating processes - thinking up musical and vocal melodies, song structure (verses, choruses, bridges etc.) dynamics and composition and production and so on. Iâm getting way off track but I wanted to point to some of this stuff here cause I think this album exemplifies some of it. It contains more songs than any other CL release at 20 tracks and was released just over a month after her previous album. The level of song writing and production remains the same. I love it but I donât understand it. Fave track: âCrime Spreeâ. 3. Crushing Love - Simple Pleasures This album contains some of the more abrasive (though no less brilliant, imo) kinda CL songs that I referred to above, and I think itâd appeal less to people who arenât already fans. But itâs a bit of a mixed bag. The track âHowlsâ is a lot like some of the material from the album âInstrumentsâ while tracks like âBlisterâ or the title track are... noisier. All three are favourites. 4. Crushing Love - Pray Tell The most recent CL release, I havenât had much time to digest it in the two and half weeks itâs been out but first impressions are good. 5. Crushing Love - Nocturnal Emotions A pretty typical CL release, contains a mix of noisier and popier stuff. Lyrically and musically âSurviveâ is one of my fave CL songs. âFear The Lonelyâ is beautiful and one the most unpolished tracks of recent releases and is more reminiscent of earlier CL releases - sounds like a single take on piano with very little overdubbing/panning or any other processing. 6. Crushing Love - Cinema This oneâs a bit of an anomaly in CLâs catalogue in that it is the only album that contains any sort of description on the bandcamp page. It explains that the songs on this album were all inspired by Filipino films - the song titles taken directly from the film titles and the lyrics based on the plots. Musically pretty unforgiving, tracks like âScorpio Nightsâ and âBatch â81â really pummel the ears. Favourite song is âGold Silver Deathâ. 7. Crushing Love - Wallpaper Another curious thing about CL is despite the bandcamp, youtube channel, tumblr and soundcloud, there still feels like a relative lack of promotional willingness or online engagement from the artist (as far as I can tell her music/artist name appears nowhere outside of those âofficialâ accounts that only share the music itself - not mentioned on any blogs, forums, other music cataloging sites or communities, fb, twitter etc, no apparent gig/event listings) and despite the seemingly very personal and biographical lyrics, a complete lack of information about who this person is. And the only apparent online âinteractionâ seems to be that the album Wallpaper is ârecommendedâ by another bandcamp artist, Monkey Island who appears as a âfeat.â on several CL songs, and in turn one of his albums is the recommendation on CLâs page. He says âcrushinglove is a phenomenon! based in manila shes been cranking out 30 albums of sad, sexy, scary dreampop over the past 2 years. wallpaper is allegdly her farewell album and she never sounded betterâ. She released her next album one month after Wallpaper, but that is nevertheless a curious nugget of opinion about an artist of which there is very little info or opinion or anything available on. 8. Crushing Love - What We Lost We Can Never Get Back Iâm gonna stop writing about CL albums now cause a) itâs getting out of hand and b) these last three albums are fairly typical CL albums that I donât feel the need to expand on. And Iâm sure no one needs me to. 9. Crushing Love - Diva Mood 10. Crushing Love - Blue Ocean 11. Sarah Mary Chadwick - 9 Classic Tracks 9 Classic Tracks alright!! Hah no but really this is amazing and devastatingly beautiful album. 12. Kathryn Joseph - Bones You Have Thrown Me And Blood I've Spilled I read some criticism of this album that was like âugh I can hear the piano pedals and squeaks and creaks of the keys etc. and it ruins the album, and also itâs a bit boring after the first few songsâ but ugh, the sense of atmosphere that the squeaks and creaks partly account for is partly what makes this album so captivating for me and I think it would only get boring if you werenât super into her schtick anyway cause to me this album doesnât dip below being completely engrossing from start to finish. 13. Emily Ulman - Wear It Well I think this is her best album yet and I think she is pretty under appreciated. Extremely top notch songwriting imo. Fave is âLight Onâ. 14. Zanders - Buried Men Their last album was my #1 for 2014 and maybe this one just needs more time (released December) but it hasnât quite got under my skin in the same way yet. Still so great though. God I love Alex Saracenoâs voice. 15. Angel Haze - Back to the Woods So satisfying to listen to this after their disappointingly detached-sounding major label debut in 2013. Everything that I can think of that isnât great about this album actually makes me love it even more. Angel Haze's weaknesses with lyrics/delivery just make me more emotionally invested in the subject matter. The mostly forgettable beats don't do anything to distract me. Devastating. Especially the last 3 tracks. And âDark Placesâ. 16. Oneohtrix Point Never - Garden Of Delete As usual Iâm got to a point where Iâm sick of writing words now so yeh enjoy the rest of this list seeya. 17. Grimes - Art Angels 18. Heather Woods Broderick - Glider 19. Julia Holter - Have You In My Wilderness 20. Billy Woods - Today, I Wrote Nothing Yeh Iâm sick of adding bold and links too now, look them up yourself if u want. Serious though all the albums below are still extremely good and any could be in the top 20 depending on my mood and I have thoughts about them too just not the enthusiasm for typing. 21. Jess Locke - Words That Seem To Slip Away 22. Waxahatchee - Ivy Tripp 23. Allie X - CollXtion I 24. Lubomyr Melnyk - Rivers and Streams 25. Sports - All Of Something 26. Recondite - Placid 27. Terrible Truths - Terrible Truths 28. Karin Park - Apocalypse Pop 29. I Am Just A Pupil - "12 Hours Full Relaxation" 30. Jess Ribeiro - Kill It Yourself 31. Purity Ring - Another Eternity 32. Shit And Shine - Everybody's A Fuckin Expert 33. Jessica Pratt - On Your Own Love Again 34. Any Other - Silently. Quietly. Going Away 35. Rafael Anton Irisarri - A Fragile Geography 36. Eskimeaux - O.K. 37. Nicole Dollanganger - Natural Born Losers 38. Carly Rae Jepson - Emotion 39. Panurge and Pantagruel - Yoruba Adire 40. Ibeyi - Ibeyi 41. The Ocean Party - Light Weight 42.
