⋆˚࿔ᝰ.ᐟ i miss you
it’s been too long…
.ᐟ aaliyah x black!reader .ᐟ mentions of her death .ᐟ bwlw .ᐟ angst
YOU SAT IN THE DIRECTOR'S CHAIR in all your aged glory, face glowing under the studio lights, showing off the simple glam you sported. the glam team had focused on making sure you were as comfortable as possible while you told your life story for the three-hour-long documentary.
it was about an hour into the special now; you were animatedly talking about what the industry was like for you back then—a hungry black woman in her early 20s dedicated to making a name for herself as a solo artist.
the production team was using a different approach regarding you talking about yourself now, opting to show clips and read off magazine clippings in the midst of you recalling your life.
you were on the topic of friends and family now.
“hi guys, i’m getting better with this recording thing…” came your voice tinged in youth.
the light smile you wore faded as you recognized exactly what had begun to play. it was as if someone had thrown a pail of cold water over your head as your demeanor shifted into something more serious, watching the clip without a word.
“i’m in the studio, and guess what? aaliyah is here too!” you continued, eyes glowing in the camcord footage before you shifted it over to her.
your breath nearly caught in your throat at the reveal, as if this wasn’t footage you had run back time and time again after her death.
aaliyah smiled at you, or the camera, and greeted, “hey y’all,” and you couldn’t keep it together, biting your lip as you breathed through your nose to control it.
the clip continued, showing the laughs you shared, the looks, and the fun as you played the tracks for your sophomore studio album for her. she had been more than excited to listen and give her opinions on the work. you had appreciated her so much then, knowing she had took time out of her busy schedule to support you.
that had meant everything to you.
it still did.
you smiled sadly as the clips continued to play, that brightness in your eyes there in the beginning of filming dimmed as the memories flooded in; meeting her, becoming friends, briefly being more, her talking about the shoot for ‘rock the boat’ and being on the fence to leave.
her death.
it was almost too much as the camcorder footage finally stopped.
your nostrils flared before you smiled sadly back at the camera. with watery eyes, you spoke up again, “i said i wouldn’t cry on this. you guys suck,”
the production team chortled at your words, more than sympathetic.
“she… uh... she was everything. genuinely. i had never met a peer in the industry that had been as supportive to me as aaliyah was,” you recalled, eyes trailing over to something behind the camera as you remembered.
you bit the inside of your cheek as more thoughts flooded in, “and she was very caring. she remembered the little things.” your eyes brightened then, now looking back into the camera. “it would make you feel special, like; ‘you remembered?’ and she’d just be smiling all cool and nod.” you laughed.
then that smile faded again as reality hit.
“...aaliyah was special, herself. so so special. and i loved her so much,” you uttered.
that was your truth. you refused to elaborate on just how deep that love went.
“i still can’t believe she’s gone. ‘feels weird even after all these years,” you pushed one of your braids out of your face as you looked toward production, really trying to control it.
really.
but the thoughts were loud, and that hole in your heart was huge.
aaliyah was your first love, beside music. it was something you had come to terms with years ago in therapy, and a big obstable you had to tackle as you dealt with romantic relationships after her. so many blogs speculated that she was the cause of many of your messy break-ups with other prominent celebrities and athletes, and it was a something you tried not to pay attention to. the tabaloids gave you hell for years, and you refused from the beginning to give them any information about yourself in that sense.
then eventually came out. it was like that was the confirmation they needed about your and her relationship when you were young.
and still, it wasn’t their business, and you wouldn’t make it theirs all these years later.
you’d have probably been so happy with her if she was still here. both retired in the in the industry and maybe even married. or something.
your eyes welled with more tears, and they spilled over this time. you shook your head as they fell, closing your eyes as you continued to remember her.
to hell with the soft beat your glam team had given you.
you snatched a tissue from the box beside you, holding it under one of your eyes to catch the salty tears. it reminded you of when she had comforted you at the party celebrating your second single release back in the day.
more tears fell and you shut your eyes tighter, covering your mouth as if it would silence your pain somewhat. everything felt like it was too much now, the lights were too bright, there were too many cameras, and the hole in your heart was bigger.
“i’m so sorry,” you apologized shakily to the crew, “i really don’t know what’s come over me.”
it shocked me that i couldn’t find fics of her on here. i had to do something about that rq!! i plan to make a few more for her but i’m really in my jjk fic bag rn so i can’t promise when the next one will be… anyway i genuinely miss her bad. such a beauty and full of sheer talent. the industry is so dark. rest in peace babygirl <3
michael jackson was a BLACK MAN. yall need to remember that. yes his music was and is for everyone but make sure y’all remember he is a black man before anything else, and he experienced the black man struggles!! i see too many people that seem to forget that whether it’s because of his vitiligo or whatever else.
…where are the aaliayh x reader fics on here?!

⋆˚࿔ᝰ.ᐟ halfcrazy
loosely based on ‘halfcrazy’ by musiqsoulchild!
.ᐟ friend!suguru x black!reader .ᐟ his pov .ᐟ mature themes mdni .ᐟ solemn-ish?
SUGURU THOUGHT he was going crazy.
genuinely.
and it was all your fault.
well, it was partly his as well—him being a more-than-willing participant in your circumstances, and all.
but, you were still to blame.
that big ass bottle of hennessy you and some other friends decided to drink with him to celebrate another successful school year, too.
he couldn’t even process how it happened. one minute, he was passing you a duvet to use while you slept on his couch after the hangout, and the next, you were in his room under those covers. both of you covered in sweat and closer than close.
he had taken you to places you'd never been before. showed you highs you didn’t believe were possible.
you ached in all the right places—he assumed after witnessing the light limp in your walk earlier today.
and like a coward, he barely mentioned the night, simply pretending as if everything was normal between you two.
nothing was normal.
he couldn’t stop thinking about you. he couldn’t stop thinking about the way you sounded. the way you stretched around him so perfectly. the way you clawed down his back when things started to feel good and bordered on too much—
he was going fucking crazy.
and the feelings he had been developing for you didn’t help his situation at all.
don’t get him wrong, he saw you as a friend for years. there were never any ulterior motives with you, or some creepy plotting going on. these feelings kind of just… appeared one day before he could even process what they were.
he didn’t even deny them once they had fully bloomed. you were just so perfect.
the sweetest, most empathetic woman he had ever met.
you were smart, you could hold a conversation, and he loved how lively you could be.
he guessed the feelings were very valid on his part, he was just unsure whether to act on them or not. your friendship was something he cherished deeply, and he would rather let whatever he felt naturally go away before he ruined what you had.
but then two nights ago happened, and suddenly he was rethinking everything.
you wouldn’t have let him touch you if you didn’t like him, right?
he knew you… but he also didn’t know you. he couldn’t tell where your head was at about the situation, and part of him was scared to find out.
another part would rather get it over with and navigate the relationship from there.
suguru gazed up at his ceiling as he laid in bed, the room dark aside from the digital alarm clock on his bedside table. it was past midnight, and he couldn’t sleep. a hand rested on his chest as he bit the inside of his cheek in thought.
he wasn’t usually in his head like this.
his eyes shifted over to his phone at the feel of a buzz, the screen coming to life with a notification that had passed his ‘do not disturb’ setting.
the emoji associated to your contact was the first thing he noticed before he read your name. he scooped up the device almost immediately at that.
it was a message from you that made his heart speed up, slightly out of embarrassment for not being the first to speak up as the man, and out of excitement.
can we talk tomorrow?
i’m in love with this man it’s actually crazy. i NEED THAT!!! might make a part 2 to this in the future but i just love a good lil suguru drabble. i always think about him omfg—

⋆˚࿔ᝰ.ᐟ wash day
your devoted husband getting you right!
.ᐟ husband!suguru x wife!black!reader .ᐟ toddler shenanigans .ᐟ fluff
TWO WEEKS. just two more weeks until your baby girl would be out and in your arms to hold. you excitedly counted down the days, both to have another daughter and for this certain weight to finally be dropped.
pregnancy was taking a toll on you this second time around. sore feet, cramping, stiff muscles, the whole nine yards.
suguru found himself giving you a massage on more than one occasion in this last stretch of your third trimester.
but he wouldn’t change anything for the world. you needed that massage? he’d give it and more. craving salty fries and a thick milkshake at 2 in the morning? he’s up and wiping the sleep from his eyes to get the keys and head out.
the way he made sure to be as useful as possible to you during such a sensitive time made your heart soar. it was part of the reason why you felt you were ready for another.
today wasn’t any different.
“you comfortable, baby?” he muttered curiously as he lathered peppermint shampoo into your coils over the kitchen sink. one of the dining room chairs was set in front of the marble piece with a few pillows to provide you as much comfort as possible.
myla sat on the countertop beside him, legs crossed as she colored in her favorite book with a focused pout—one that made her chubby cheeks prominent in the most adorable way. a plastic bag was over her hair to help with a deep-conditioning treatment he had carded through her curls a few minutes prior.
with your due date getting closer, you had decided to get a protective style. it would make this first stretch of taking care of a newborn way easier for you, just as it did when you had had myla.
you wanted to make sure hair was the least of your worries for at least a good two months.
your first thought was your favorite—bohemian knotless—but your stylist claimed she wanted to do something a little different on you this time around. with the years of experience she had doing you and your baby’s hair, you trusted her and decided you’d let her have her way.
you and the four-year-old had an appointment with her tomorrow, and when you told suguru, he was more than happy to wash your hair.
it had actually become his thing a while ago, especially with your toddler. he understood it took time and care with your hair, devoting himself to helping you both—and bonding in the process.
myla lifted her head at the sound of her father's voice and nodded, “yes, i’m okay,”
suguru chuckled and looked her way, “i was talking to your mommy,” he gently plopped a bit of the suds on his large hands onto her nose. “but i’m glad you’re okay too.”
she squealed at the feel of the bubbles, swatting his hand away as her curls flailed against the bag with her jittery movements.
his gaze was back on your face as he spoke again, “baby?”
your eyes fluttered open to meet his own, an amused smile on your lips, “mhm,”
he smiled back while he took in your expression. it was nice to see you relaxed while as heavily pregnant as you were. he gently wiped away suds that had somehow gotten a little too close to your eyebrow before getting back to scrubbing at your scalp. “good.”
“i’m getting a deep condition too, right?” you asked him curiously, eyes still open as you admired his handsome face.
he looked so good when he focused, a crease naturally forming between his brows that you loved to gently run a thumb over to bring him back to reality. one raised at your question, but he continued to wash your hair.
“why wouldn’t you?” was his reply. his eyes went over to myla to check on her, the toddler still coloring away. it seemed like she was almost finished with her scribbling, which meant she would either get bored and want to get down, or simply go to the next.
you could never be too sure with her.
suguru started to rinse the shampoo from your hair, making sure to go in with the detachable faucet to get it thoroughly done. “bun, you still okay?”
still scribbling, myla nodded her head and mumbled a reply. “yes, daddy. i almost done.”
he mirrored her action and gently corrected her, “make sure you use ‘i’m’, bun.” then he smirked in amusement as she threw her eyes his way, a look that mirrored yours when annoyed gracing the little girl’s face.
“oh, i’m almost done,” she begrudgingly repeated herself, “…no-no all daddy!” frowning at her father.
you snorted in your seat while she glared at your husband, eyes now closed while he rinsed the last of the shampoo out your hair. “not she called you a know-it-all.”
suguru narrowed his own eyes as he listened to you. he fixed his stare back on the toddler still shooting him daggers and huffed, “because that's what you say.”
with a careless shrug, “well, i say it with love.”
he scoffed playfully before grabbing the bottle of conditioner off the counter, getting a good amount in his hands to work into your hair. “you bully me in my own home for liking to know things.”
he massaged the product into your roots before gently carding it all the way through, making sure it was evenly disbursed.
your eyes opened to meet the focused ones of his, “i’d never. i love that you want to know everything. it’s sexy to me, and you know that. i’m always supporting you being a nerd.”
he studied your face as you spoke—something he always loved to do—then smirked. “you think i’m sexy?”
you kissed your teeth and rolled your eyes at your husband. he knew damn well you loved how educated he strived to be, it was something you had complimented him on for years. even way before you two tied the knot.
he also already knew you found him sexy, with his unserious ass. “suguru, shut up.”
a little voice interrupted the moment with pure curiosity, “mommy, what’s ‘sexy’?”
oh brother.
was missing this family dynamic (and the loml suguru) real bad. had to write them something cutesy to satisfy it. they’re so freaking adorable it makes me sickkkk.

⋆˚࿔ᝰ.ᐟ punishment
these kids, man!
.ᐟ husband!kento x wife!black!reader .ᐟ double trouble .ᐟ humor .ᐟ fluff
YOU TYPICALLY WEREN'T THE TYPE of parent that sent your kids off to play without a care. it was how you had been raised and something you swore you’d never do to your own.
right now was absolute proof as to why.
the twins had been given permission to play with the garden hose in hopes that it would both be entertainment and a way to cool them off.
you understood what this would ultimately lead to with them.
mud.
a lot of it.
your first thought was to let them know they couldn’t go that far with the water. absolutely no mud. they were not about to track it into your house when it was time to go inside, and you damn sure didn’t want the hassle of washing it out of their hair!
but they gave you the sweetest pouts, faces matching one another in that way identical twins did, while also looking like their father and the absolute love of your life. so… you approved.
summer had just begun. you’d hate to not be a fun mom in some way, you suppose.
but now, thirty minutes later, you deeply regretted it as you stood on your front porch with a groggy kento behind you. he let out a sigh as he watched the two troublemakers continue throwing mud at one another without a care in the world. their giggles pierced the humid air, full of as much joy and excitement eight-year-olds could muster.
“kaizen and nami!” you called from your spot, face rumpled in disbelief as you looked away from your children and to your husband’s car splotched in mud. “your daddy’s car?! really?”
kento shook his head, rubbing an eyebrow and wracking his half-awake brain for words. he stared at the two muddy children frozen in the yard.
you weren’t waiting on him, though. “in what world do you two think it’s okay to throw mud at the cars? come here!”
kaizen, your oldest twin by two minutes, shook excess mud from his hands as he trailed over to you two. myla followed behind him guiltily.
your face was still in disbelief as you watched them get closer. “how did the car get involved? y’all were supposed to be playing in the yard!” you eyed their short bodies to check for any injuries like you always did—a motherly instinct even while frustrated.
“...it just kinda happened, mommy. we didn’t mean to.” kaizen mumbled, avoiding eye contact with both you and his father. half of his face was covered in mud and the short style of hair on his head had a few patches of it. he pursed his lips in a way that showed off the dimples in his cheeks—ones that mirrored nami who stood beside him a bit shorter. her face was also covered in mud, with more than half of her hair caked in the soft, wet earth.
they were both drenched in hose water too, clothes dripping on the porch.
poor nami looked so guilty, small hands clasped together in front of her, “we’re sorry mommy.”
you raised a brow at the two and placed a hand on your hip, “that’s your daddy’s car.”
their brown eyes were on the tall man beside you now, both of them mustering up the most guilty face they possibly could as they regarded their father at the same time. “sorry!”
“please forgive us, daddy!” nami begged with a pout, going in for a hug in hopes of soothing him from the annoyance.
“it was an accident…” kaizen defended as he wrapped his arms around his father as well.
nanami tensed at the hugs, thinking about how dirty he would be now as he choked out a weak protest, “wait–”
"we're really really sorry! pretty please forgive us." your daughter practically begged. the guilt was really eating her alive at this point.
you looked at them fondly, a smile gracing your face as the kids covered their father in mud. you weren’t even that upset with the whole ordeal, just more in shock. as long as the two had owned up to their mistake and apologized, you were fine.
and it also wasn't your car that had been attacked, so...
kento huffed in amusement and simply patted both their muddy heads. “...it’s alright, nami, calm down. i just want to know how it happened if your mommy told you to stay in the yard?”
“i swear it just did! we were throwing the mud and i wanted to be safe so i went over there to be safe because that’s where the cars are and then kaizen threw the mud, but we didn’t pay attention ‘cause its a mud fight and you can’t get distracted! so we brought the mud over there, i think, and the car got dirty. we’re so sorry!” nami rambled to him, eyes starting to glisten with tears.
kaizen narrowed his eyes at her, brows creasing and a frown gracing his face. she was such a tattle-tale when she got nervous. “good job, nami.” he huffed.
you shot him a look that he felt immediately. he fixed his face as he glanced your way in embarrassment.
kento had listened closely to his daughter as she exposed the truth, eyes never leaving her little face as he processed the information. “thank you for telling the truth, nami.” he reassured her, “me and mommy aren’t mad at you. it would just be nice if you say it the first time instead of making excuses. that’s the responsible thing to do.”
she nodded in a way that made her hair flop with the movement. he patted her head again before moving his gaze to his son, “you understand that too?”
the eight-year-old could hear the underlying warning in his father’s tone and nodded as well, a heat creeping up on his cheeks. “yes…”
kento kept his gaze on him a second longer before looking towards his car, shaking his head.
it wasn’t too bad—you had caught them fairly early on—but it wasn’t necessarily good, either. the mud was very noticeable on the vehicle.
you mirrored your husband’s actions, sighing, “you two are so…”
the twins only stared up at you with their big brown eyes, hoping that factor would ease up whatever scolding you had left to give. “actually... ken, hose them down while i go get some soap and some sponges. they cleaning the cars!"
the concept of nanami having twins?? yes yes yes

⋆˚࿔ᝰ.ᐟ some mugging
they’re amateurs!
webbed (series) .ᐟ
.ᐟ spiderman!yuji x black!reader .ᐟ action .ᐟ humor .ᐟ use of profanity
IT WAS A NORMAL EVENING for yuji—or as normal as he could get as a masked hero—dinner for him and his aunt safely tucked away in the bookbag on his shoulder. he pulled out his phone and quickly clicked to click on the familiar contact of his aunt. the line rang a few times as he smoothly navigated the busy streets of new york to head home.
“yuj?” came her warm voice. he playfully rolled his eyes at the use childhood nickname before he responded.
“i got us dinner from the deli. i’m on my way home right now.” he spoke, holding the phone close to his ear as he continued to walk.
mae grinned on the other end, he could hear it in her voice. “oh, thats perfect! i been craving a blt for two days. did you get me—”
yuji was quick to cut her off, amusement in his voice as he continued to walk the familiar path to their apartment. “yes, i got you extra pickles and peppers on the side.”
“you’re the best nephew in the world!” she cooed, half-playing and half-serious. those two things were very important for her sandwich to hit the way it was supposed to, yuji knew it. “how did i get so lucky?” she continued.
a chuckle spilled from yuji's lips as he listened to her. he shook his head at her dramatics as he spoke. “you working late again?”
the older lady sighed, “unfortunately, but it’s extra money so i won't complain too much.”
yuji frowned, “you know i could pitch in for rent—”
“yuji itadori,” she said in a serious tone. it meant he better stop talking before she scolded him.
he sighed at her stubbornness. “mae, i just wanna help.”
her response left no room for an argument. “focus on school, yuji. don’t worry about the bills.” his stomach clenched as she continued, "i'd never ask you for something like that. i'm the adult."
yuji fixed his lips to argue anyway, but he paused when he suddenly got that feeling. that unmistakable tingle that meant something wasn't right. he slowed his walking and turned his head toward an alley, much to the dismay of people walking behind him on the bustling sidewalk.
he mumbled apologies as his eyes moved to catch sight of the problem immediately.
it looked like a petty mugging by some masked figures. three of them stood over what looked like a guy who worked in the business district—suit and tie, briefcase, expensive shoes. the muggers were about to rock that man’s world in the worst way.
“uh, mae i’m gonna let you go.” he finally said into the phone as he walked a street ahead. he headed into an empty alley toward a large dumpster to hide behind, dropping his bookbag onto the ground.
mae hummed in response to him. she still seemed upset about his earlier concerns, but let him off the hook. “...okay. text me when you make it home, alright? love you.”
yuji smiled at her words, stripping behind the dumpster to reveal the sleek red spider-suit with intricate black lines under his clothes. “i will. love you too.”
she hung up after, leaving yuji alone to the sound of his shuffling and the busy city from the open alley entrance. he reached into the bag for that familiar mask and quickly threw his clothes and shoes inside. it fit over his face like a glove, and he breathed steadily as he double-checked his suit.
the bookbag was picked up and tossed under a fire escape high above ground—a web shot to hold it in place.
yuji shot another, this time to help him up onto the building for higher ground over where the muggers stood. he was quick to the scene to look down at it, head tilting as he analysed.
“gimme that watch on yo’ wrist.” one of the muggers commanded the man. he was the tallest of the bunch with a black ski mask over his head. his fists were clenched at his sides—stance threatening to the man on the ground trembling in fear.
“please!” the man begged, “take my wallet o-or my shoes, but please don’t take the watch. my wife gave me—”
“we don’t give a fuck,” another replied—ski mask on as well, but in the color brown—as he stepped closer like black ski mask, “take it off.”
yuji shook his head as he attached a web to the side of the building and slowly eased down toward the group. he continued to listen as the muggers intimidated the man into giving up all his stuff. when he made it low enough to be directly behind the group of muggers, yuji realized at this close of distance that they were only some teenagers. what a shame.
“excuse me? you can’t mug in this alley.” he spoke up. the last teen—and the only yuji hadn't heard speak up at all during the petty mugging—damn near jumped out of his shoes at the sudden sound of yuji's voice, causing the hero to widen his eyes. “oh! i’m sorry, i didn't mean to scare you like that!”
brown ski mask turned in disbelief as he eyed the hero. “...spider-man?”
yuji tilted his head, hanging upside down in front of the trio. “...yeah?”
black ski mask kissed his teeth as he turned to spider-man, regarding brown ski mask aggressively. “man who give a fuck who it is? get the watch!" he swings on the yuji, thinking he had the upper hand since he hung upside-down.
yuji caught his wrist with ease and held it tight, shooting a web at brown ski mask, who attempted to snatch the watch off the man. it attached to the boy’s hand and... stuck him to the victim as well—both now struggling to get it off and unattached from each other.
the hero got down from his web and stood at his full height, his actions causing him to twist black ski mask's arm. the boy howled in pain as yuji forced the limb to his back. “young man, don't you know mugging is bad?”
black ski mask wasn't listening, more focused on trying to escape his grip.
yuji was about to repeat himself when something was suddenly tossed at him. it didn't hurt but it definitely threw him off. he looked up from the struggling boy to the one he had startled. they wore a gray ski mask and their hands visibly shook.
“did you just throw a rock at me?” yuji asks, completely in disbelief.
“i- no!” gray ski responded in a panic.
marks shot webs at the boy’s feet and stuck him in place. he shoved black ski mask away and pointed at him as he stumbled. “make better decisions. you should be ashamed of yourself—”
“fuck you!” black ski hollered, rushing out of the alley on his own.
yuji was astounded, turning to gray ski—who tried to wrangle himself out of the webs on his feet—wanting to see if he heard how the boy talked to him. kids these days were so disrespectful.
and he had left his friends to fend for themselves???
he shook his head and he left gray ski to struggle, giving his attention to brown ski and the victim. he put his hands on his hips and looked at them. “it should dissolve in fifteen minutes so… uh, wait for that.”
the man is in disbelief. “you stuck me to the kid trying to mug me?!”
yuji held his hands out as if to attempt calm him down, “i know, sir, and i apologize! but i really didn’t have a choice…”
brown ski grunts as he tries to pull off the web. “get me out of this nasty shit!”
“give it fifteen minutes.” yuji repeats with a nod in hopes of sounding reassuring. he turned his head and caught sight of a group of passersby peering into the alley. they all nosily watched the scene in front of them—some with phones out, but all wondering what the hero was de-escalating.
“hey!” he called. “can one of you guys call the police for me? tell them i caught two out of three muggers for them!” he makes the signal of a phone with his hand as he speaks.
“what?!” an old lady asks. she holds a hand up to her ear as if that would help her hear him better and leans in a bit.
yuji sighed, letting his head fall before looking back up to repeat himself to the group of people at the end of the long alley. “call the police, beause i caught muggers!”
they seem to hear him this time and a few of the people who had been recording do just that.
he shoots a web up high and swings out of the alley. the police could take it from there.

FUSHI’S DELI WAS A STAPLE in the horton area of new york. running for more than a decade, it held the people in the area down and vice versa. everyone loved the fushiguro family.
yuji leaned against the ice cream cooler placed next to the entrance. he watched as his best friend, megumi fushiguro, swept the floor.
the two had known each other since he was six and yuji was five—he had actually been the first child yuji interacted with after moving to america to stay with his aunt and uncle. the adults in their life bonded over being the only east asians in their apartment building and naturally let the boys hang out.
they had been inseparable since then, growing up like brothers.
“...so we started doing a little research. and then when class ended she asked me for my number. like, asked me.” yuji rambled to his best friend, hands lightly moving as he recalled his day. “i still can’t believe it, meg.” he scratched his cheek as he trailed off in thought. “…maybe manifestation is real.”
megumi looked up at yuji from the pile of trash on the floor, tilting his head as he formulated a dry response. “well, how else would she talk to you about the project?”
he was hoping to rain on his parade just because he could. in reality, he was happy for him. he knew yuji had been pathetically crushing on you since his first year at manton university. even though the proximity between you two had been forced for a school project, it could possibly become something more.
maybe he was delusional too...
yuji scoffed at his words and shook his head as he looked away. he crossed his arms over his chest, his oversized varsity jacket making that familiar rustle as he moved the worn material layered over a large white hoodie.
he put one leg over the other as he responded to his friend. the baggy light jeans pulled back a bit to show off the sneakers he wore. “i don’t even know why i talk to you.”
megumi, dressed in his black “Fushi’s Deli” work shirt and light-washed jeans, was quick with his reply as he went back to sweeping. “i don’t know either,” he tried to hide his smirk as he listened to yuji scoff again.
“but, if you really wanna, like, pursue her, you have get out of your shell.”
yuji sighed and uncrossed his arms as he responded. that definitely was an issue for him. “i know. she just… makes me nervous.”
“fucking loser.” megumi muttered under his breath. he snorted when a small bag of chips were launched his way, barely dodging them from the web-slinger.
yuji narrowed his eyes and huffed in annoyance.

YUJI COULD THANK GOD for his luck right now. being partnered up with you? one of the prettiest women he had ever seen in his life?
he’d jump for joy if it wasn’t such a lame thing to do.
you stood next to him as you faced the professor. the older man was sitting behind a large desk in the center of their buzzing lecture hall. the wooden surface was littered with papers and writing utensils of his—a perfect reflection of the man’s unorganized and chaotic style of teaching.
professor wyatt took a sip from his thermal—probably full of black coffee—then spoke up after savoring the flavor of his beverage. “flip this coin and i’ll tell you what your prompt is.”
he slid the quarter in your direction without hesitation.
you furrowed your brows as you stared at the man, tone amused, “forreal?”
your eyes shifted toward yuji with a little smile on your face, almost as if to see if he found the man entertaining as well.
it wasn’t anything new. professor wyatt always had some wonky way he would get his students to figure out writing topics. that was just how the man was.
yuji's smile back at you was late. you turned your head toward the educator again before he could humor you, pressing his lips together and rubbing his neck awkwardly at the realization. he felt his ears begin to heat up in embarrassment as he watched you grab the quarter and flip it.
it landed on heads.
professor wyatt smiled before he grabbed a piece of paper off the desk and passed it to you. “your presentation will be for the idea of heroes. here’s your rubric.”
you accepted the paper with a manicured hand, scanning over it briefly.
the educator crossed his arms over his chest, the watch under his blue plaid button-up gleaming in the natural light from the classroom as he looked between you both. “any questions?”
yuji responded to him while he adjusted his glasses in his nose, “no uh, i think we’re good…”
he trailed off as he glanced toward you.
‘maybe i should have checked before just assuming!’ he thought to himself in a panic. was this misogynistic of him? god, he hoped not.
when he realized you were staring at him, he lost his train of thoughts immediately.
yuji didn’t usually swear, but all he could think was ‘damn’ at the sight of you—you looked like a model to him, or something up there that involved looking good. hell, you technically were if he recalled some of the posts you made on social media.
not that he was stalking you or anything!
there was a natural glow to you—like you personally bathed in sunshine and rainbows—and it reflected in your looks, and especially your personality.
at this point, yuji had had the description of you down. his silent admiration for the past three years of your college experience helped him greatly.
it started the first day of freshman year. he passed you in the crowded hallway of the science building, and you quite literally took his breath away.
he was so pathetic. maybe delusional, too.
you looked back at your professor and flashed a polite smile that made your glossy lips shimmer under the light. “yeah, we’re good.”
professor wyatt nodded at you two, “then you can head back to your seats and start on research. remember, if you ever have any questions, my inbox is available. don’t be afraid to reach out and email.”
you both nod as well, taking in his words.
with a friendly tone, you turned to yuji. “you wanna sit next to me so we can start? or would you prefer if i came and sat next to you?”
yuji's lips parted at your words. he lifted a hand to scratch his head and give you a slightly awkward smile—he didn’t mean for it to be—as he responded. “oh-, i-it doesn’t matter to me. whatever is more comfortable with you is fine.”
you looked at him in amusement, a little smirk on your face at what seemed to be a lack of social skills on his part. “then come sit next to me.”
all he could do was nod, fixing his glasses that seemed to keep slipping down.
you walked away to head back to your seat, leaving him there as he stared. yuji turned his head to professor wyatt at the sound of a chuckle. the man gave him a look, having been watching the whole time, “be a man.”
“what?” yuji stammered with furrowed pink brows.

it’s very dramatic to make a post lmao, but i’m literally so grateful to everyone who has followed me and showed my fics love!! i haven’t been on here that long as a writer, and didn’t expect to get this much traction early on—especially as a xblack!reader writer—but i was wrong!!
i hope my fellow black women continue to feel safe on this account and support what i put out. this will always be the blog that makes sure we are heard and represented in a world that is so set on erasing us. i will never play about my black women.
again, thank you a ton to all those who have followed me and read my fics, those who reblog and comment, and especially those who encourage my ideas. i really appreciate each and every one of you! <3

okay i’ll drop the first two fics i have for the webbed universe (spiderman!yuji x black!reader) this week to really get it going and in celebration of the new spider-man movie coming out this month!
again, these two correlate greatly because they were part of a book i scrapped years ago. other than that, this series is just random fics of yuji being spider-man.
