Little idea from a year ago or two where ace and sabo get baby luffy dumped into their care after once again, garp decided to leave another child allegedly in dadans care.

"Why do we have to take care of him?" Ace muttered under his breath, casting a sideways glance at Dadan.
Dadan, unfazed by their grumbling, crossed her arms and stared them down. "Because I said so. that's why. Now stop whining and just do it."
Pulling two more cigarettes from her pocket and lighten them up already.
Knowing that arguing further would be useless, Sabo decided to take matters into his own hands. In this case, Luffy, who was bundled up in thick blankets and seemed to be naked underneath. No less than a few weeks old. Poor baby.
He gently fixed luffys blankets to cover him up from the cool breeze, who had started to fuss again. "Come on, let's get you away from all this noise” he whispered soothingly to baby luffy.
As he went to their shared bedroom, the sounds of bickering back and forth between dadan and Ace slowly faded. And luffy seemed to calm down as well, smacking his little lips in sleepiness.
Months went by, and taking care of baby Luffy turned out to be more of a pain in the ass than Ace and Sabo had anticipated.
He was slowly becoming a toddler than a baby anymore. He had grown from a tiny premature infant to a healthy, full-sized baby. His full head of hair now wavy and thick.
Sometimes too long that ace would trim it just enough so baby luffy doesn’t use his tight grippy hands to tug at his own hair and make himself cry again.
Both Ace and Sabo found themselves constantly on edge,, trying to keep up with Luffy's endless babbling energy and mischief.
Luffy would sometimes smack aces face when it was feeding time and laugh like it’s the most funniest thing in the world to see ace covered in mashed up apple sauce.
Sabo would always clean up the mess later and lightly scold Luffy while also trying to keep Ace from fuming out the house and getting his anger out on the trees.
Ace in particular, was getting frustrated. "Man, this kid is a handful!” he grumbled one evening, flopping down onto the couch
“I didn't sign up to be a babysitter." He said, looking down where baby Luffy was soundly sleeping. Tucked in his arm so he was close to him from rolling over on the edge of the couch.
Despite all the grumbling, it was cute. Luffy was a cute baby. But Ace didn’t wanna voice those thoughts out loud. He’d never been the soft spoken guy who gets all wholesome over cute things.
Unlike sabo who would often get cuteness aggression and kiss luffys cheeks and hug him tight until Luffy was whining for Aces help.
One day while they were trying to get Luffy to settle down for a nap, Ace turned to Sabo with a serious look. "Yk if this kid starts talking anytime soon, I don't want him to see us as his parents. We're his big brothers. not his mom and dad."
Sabo felt something was off about the tone. it sounded a bit dishonest.. or uncomfortable?
Eh. Maybe he shouldn’t think too much about it. They’re just teens, having the big title of parents is too big for them both.
Sabo raised an eyebrow. "You think he's gonna start talking already?" Woowww what a way to start a topic after putting the lousy baby to sleep huh?
Ace shrugged. "Who knows? But I just don't want him getting the wrong idea. We've got enough on our plates without adding 'parent' to the list."
Sabo chuckled softly, “okay, fair enough. Big brothers it is, then." Then Luffy gurgled happily in his tired body, kicking a small leg up and farting.
Dumbass baby.
Because of Luffy, haven’t been seperated from ace and sabo since he’s been dropped here. They’ve barely or tried to go out in the jungle to do their usual routine not while luffys whining and crying to have at least one of them holding him.
Ace and Sabo decided that taking Luffy outside might help with his restlessness.
They fashioned a makeshift baby carrier for Sabo to wear on his back. A blanket wrapped around sabo and tucked in luffy in it.
soon enough, their little trips into the jungle became a daily routine. Baby Luffy seemed to love it. He would giggle and let out happy wails of wonder as they went deeper into the woods.
One afternoon, they were exploring a bit deeper part of the jungle when Luffy's contented giggles turned into distressed cries.
He was hungry. Ace and sabo knew this cry a thousand times what it meant, only calming down when he had his milk.
"We need to get his bottle," Ace said urgently, looking at Sabo. Then both started to look everywhere around them to see if there’s any short paths they can go to quickly get baby Luffy his bottle. None.
If luffys cries louder, stronger, he’d probably wake every a beast from hibernation or something. With sabo carrying luffy. It’d be hard to handle one on one.
Sabo nodded. his face tense. "I'll stay here with Luffy and try to keep him calm. You run back and get the bottle."
“You kidding?! If I leave you here alone with Luffy and some beast comes, it’s over for you both!! No way!!!!!!” Ace saw no reason to let sabo alone with a crying Luffy this deep in the forest.
Then sabo who was hushing the lousy baby, panicked for a second after that and slipped his pinky finger in luffys mouth. Quiet. Oh? Seems like Luffy started suckling on it and calming down…
Using it like a pacifier. Sabo turned to ace who was staring with wide eyes at Luffy calming down a bit using Sabo’s finger as a pacifier, “okay, okay, DONT MOVE UNTIL I GET BACK!”
Then left off sprinting as fast as he could. Not long until the sun sets either. They have to be quick now.
