We are BLACK WOMEN (yes if you are mixed you are black too and need to join in solidarity so please don’t start with comments because I will block you)! We build ... We don't tear down other BLACK WOMEN! ... WE have felt the pain of being torn down and we have decided we will be deliberate about building other's. If I didn't tag you, please don't feel offended. I tried to pick people I thought would do this challenge and that I know personally! All too often, us women find it easier to criticize each other instead of building each other up. With all the negativity going around, let's do something positive 🌟 Upload 1 picture of yourself ... Only you. Then tag as many sisters to do the same. Let's build ourselves up, instead of tearing ourselves down. 🖤🖤 I know I have shared more on my stories and twitter but not been as vocal as I feel. Part of that was feeling that I didn’t want to take away the voice of others that endured these horrible experiences first hand but I don’t want to be silent and not speak up; my feelings are valid as I have my family and friends that I have seen get treated in terrible ways and have seen that being of a lighter skin tone grants privileges that really shouldn’t be privileges but the default for everyone. It may sound off but just listening to Bob Marley “War” reminded me that he was biracial, like me, and stood up so how can I call myself Jamaican American if I don’t? I urge everyone who isn’t registered to vote to get registered now and regardless of covid, get your butt in the voting poll when it comes time for your elections state and national (yes, I vote in state elections as well because you often see most change locally first!). I’m not deflecting anything that has happened by saying to vote but that using researched & calculated voting and choosing where to spend your money can be a way to help bring change. For me this means spending more time researching how judges ruled in the past and what bills representatives/senators passed or blocked. As well as seeing what companies are doing to give back to their communities before purchasing from them. Either way I’m here. 🖤 (at Westshore) https://www.instagram.com/p/CBHMJ6oBNBh/?igshid=prgvrlscx48m
