Every time I get even slightly interested in another character from another fandom, a picture of Noa pops up in some feed that just reminds me he's my number one and I want to go back to my fictional scenarios with him.
Me yall, that's why I haven't written. I just can't get anything out
"you already left kudos here"
And??? Let me like it again??? Clearly it deserves more??
I won't let go of the concept of having a clutch with Noa (many children)
I love the idea of the clan trying to behave like eagles.
And you know what? If Noa were a bird, he'd really be a CATCH.
But did you know that most eagles aren't always monogamous? I can't find much information about golden eagles, but I can about bald eagles, and some leave their mates, other times males displace other males, and sometimes a female can have two or three males available in the same nest.

Perhaps we should get the perspective of one of the apes conquered by Proximus, then confront him with what Noah experienced, and I've already seen people talking about how Proximus probably wasn't such a bad leader, in the sense that he knew how to make himself loved through manipulation even if he wasn't genuine.
Against all odds
The news made me want to imagine a parallel story about other apes in another clan, who for some reason are looking for Noa to fight the humans, and oops... WHY DOES A HUMAN LIVE IN YOUR CLAN?
And we could have "another Koba", but this one will only resonate with the reader or with Mae, or both, depending on the fanfic.
I know Noa and Mae share trauma, but he's much more peaceful and reasonable than she is, and I can imagine an ape with the same temperament as her struggling to see her enemy supported. But this time, can we give him a chance to heal? 😭
And I like to think about the cultural differences in how they would deal with that; the Eagle clan seems more cautious and more peaceful.
So I imagine this clan as much more aggressive, not like the clan on Proximus beach, which conquers, but one that defends itself.
i won't give much context to this, but Noa loves to carry you on his shoulder to tease you, especially if you're having a silly fight and he wants to ease the tension by making you laugh.
It's already mid-May
Do you think apes tell each other scary stories about humans like Shrek and Donkey?

My thoughts on this new Planet of the Apes movie and what "indirect" means are:
PREQUEL
- It could take place some years after Caesar's death, showing how the apes separated and formed the clans.
- the formation of Proximus's kingdom and even include some scenes from Noah's childhood, allowing us to see more of the Eagle Clan.
ANTHOLOGY?
- the story of a different clan, allowing us to see cultural differences and more of how this world is governed. With both storylines intertwining in the next film.
TIME SKIP
- It could all be a deceptive way of presenting the facts, and "indirect" means that it won't be exactly after that shocking cliffhanger, but rather that it takes place some time later, where there are already consequences of whatever Mae did with that memory disc.
Fandom Mood Today
It is now May.....it will almost be 2 years since KOTPOTA.
You know what'd be nice for the 2 year anniversary? Some sequel news.
Also, the anniversary is the day before my birthday, so it'd be a nice birthday present too
Some Eagle Clan worldbuilding features/headcanons I've been rattling around in my head for my fic, Sapwood, but I figured I'd share as they're not fic-specific:
ISO - KINGDOM OF THE APES fanfiction
Originally on Ao3
OC was captured and tried to escape several times. When she was brought back she was being bathed by Trevathan while he was tending to her wounds and proximus came in. He questioned him on why both humans were so different. Embarrassed Trevathan said females and males were just different. She on the other hand volunteer to explain to Proximus on evolution female anatomy. So she becomes one of his concubines. She was going to unalive him. She gets caught and to stop him from killing her seduces him. The story continues on an the end up falling for each other slowly. She keeps denying her feelings and pretending that she just waiting for the right time to get him when he least expects it. Last chapter I remember she is being stocked by Proximus Caesar's oldest son but he protects her before he can do anything to oc.
Hopefully someone has it! It was si good 😭

Eagle Clan inspired by real life eagle hunters?
I know the POTA fandom is in a bit of a drought, so I've decided to share more of my rambles on Tumblr instead of just Discord. Who knows? Might interest someone.
But ANYWAYS, I am convinced the creators behind Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes were inspired by the Kazakh eagle hunters of Mongolia.
My proof? This documentary film called The Eagle Huntress.
This film follows the story of 13 year old Aisholpan, who is determined to become the first female eagle hunter.
Get this though. There is a scene where she literally has to climb a mountain to reach the golden eagle's nest so she can get her own eaglet. There is even the threat of the eagle mother circling above, just like during Noa's climb to Top Nest.
I had originally watched this documentary in the hopes it might give me some ideas for Eagle Clan for fic writing purposes, but I was so shocked when I got to this scene. It was straight out of Kingdom! Or perhaps it was the other way around!
There were a few other details about the eagle hunters that caught my eye. According to the documentary, eagle hunters release their eagles to the wild after seven years of service. Would Eagle Clan do the same for their eagles? I can totally see them doing that.
Another thing I learned is how the eagle hunters use their eagles to catch prey like foxes. The human hunter rides high enough for the eagle to get a good view of the prey. The human then removes the eagle's hood, the eagle spots the prey, and the human releases the eagle in the hopes the eagle will catch the prey. I'd upload a video of the hunt, but it was already tricky enough uploading the first video here, lol.
We already see in Kingdom that the eagles can hunt for food for the apes, like that eagle that caught a fish and delivered it to Dar. So I wondered if Eagle Clan would also hunt with eagles on horseback like in the documentary.
Another thing though. Eagle hunting is only for men, which was why Aisholpan was the first female eagle hunter. It did get me thinking though if Eagle Clan would do something similar? I knowwww it kinda sucks to think of Eagle Clan being patriarchal of sorts, but I'm thinking something more like the Avatar films where while some roles and activities like hunting are mostly done by men, women can participate to.
Anyways, those are my POTA thoughts for the day.
Manifesting some Planet of the Apes news on or before April 16. April 16 is Cinemacon for those who don't know
So... there's still no news? 😭
