Some birds are not meant to be caged, that's all. Their feathers are too bright, their songs too sweet and wild.

Maybe we'll meet again in another life

Two people I love more than I can ever express were born on this day, one nine decades ago and the other three decades ago. Both of them have died in the last few years. But I know they’re not gone. I know I’ll see them again in future lifetimes.

There’s a beautiful black and yellow butterfly in the orange tree. It flutters so gracefully from one blossom to another, satiny wings shining in the sunlight. Spring and summer bring so much new life.

I’m still here.

Maybe it was destined to happen. But I don’t believe in destiny anymore. I suppose I don’t believe in much of anything anymore.
