“Probably has something to do with the lowering of your inhibitions aspect.”

“Long distance?  Look, we’d need radios. Like, serious radios. With antennae and dishes. On towers. Walkie talkies aren’t gonna cut it.”

Clary: my dad's dead, and everything is a mess

Clary: and i can't bother will with my problems because of everything he had going on

Ben: i hate that you have to deal with this shit.

Ben: if you need anything just let me know.

Clary: And scared

Clary: But I'm fine

Clary: Really

Ben: everything is going to be just fine

Ben: this city has been through so much and it's still standing.

Ben: hell, our families have been to hell and back and we're all still here.

Clary: And everything is crazy right now and you probably don't want to talk to me

Clary: But I just wanted to make sure you were okay

Clary: Please tell me you are okay

Ben: no, it's fine. don't worry.

Ben: i'm fine, promise.

“But then we don’t have to pay for long distance.”

“Dude, we should buy some walkie-talkies so we can always have a way to talk to each other. Even if I’m in Timbuktu and you’re in Montana.”

“I am not,” Rotem calmly corrected him. He held his hand up for the other to see as he grew a vine off one of his fingers, a row of bleeding hearts sprouting and then blooming off of it.

“Okay, obviously I am the one on drugs. Fuck. I gotta go.”

“Alcohol is not good for flowers.”

“Damn, you must be on some good ass drugs.”

“More than. Still I think.. beer would.. harm me.”

“You got a gluten problem?”

“No. I do not believe in.. bringing down others.. just because I am down.”

“Alright. Cool. You old enough for a beer? Maybe that’ll help you feel less.”

“welcome to the past two hundred years of my existence.”

“You must enjoy existing to an extent if you’ve stuck around for two hundred years, dude.”

“Now that you mention it, you are starting to look pretty old.. Actually you look older than Dad,” Thea teased. “I mean.. I graduated when I was seventeen, so I guess that is true.”

“Don’t be rude,” he stuck his tongue out at her. “Why did you want to graduate early? High School was the best years of my life. I’d give anything to relive them.”

“And here I was, brainwashed into thinking things only got better as you got older.”

“If that were true, I wouldn’t have crows feet, little sister,” he frowned. “I think everything starts going down once you turn sixteen.”
