Aspen: ... He can't talk.

Ben: fuck.

Aspen: But.. We're together most of the day. We live together, I'm not exactly the easiest to deal with I know that much..

Aspen: But.. Like why? He's not unfit, he's not like un healthly really.. I make sure we eat well when I get food in..

Aspen: Is this my fault?

Ben: you're his only daughter..

Ben: maybe this has to do with some underlying condition dad has. This could happen to anyone doesn't matter how fit or healthy you are.

Aspen: This doesn't just.. happen.

Aspen: I'm still scared

Aspen: I can't lose him!

Ben: stuff like this does just...happen sadly.

Ben: I know you are, i'm trying my hardest to get there as quick as I can.

Alice: Of course, tomorrow night is perfect. Are you sure you'll be up to it? I mean, is your dad going to be okay?

Rosette: Of course, he did pretty good today, he was able to eat on his own without any assistance. I’ll teach him some sign language so he can talk to you guys.

Alice: okay, well tell me if there is okay? Anything you need.

Alice: of course, just tell me when works for you and i'll make room. I'd love to see you

Ben: I will. Thank you Alice.

Rosette: hey I’ll probably see you around the hospital! I’m working in general this week and I can check on your dad!

Aspen: I think he's on his way.. I .. I need my brothers. I need my daddy to be ok.. I need.. I just need.. Ben.

Aspen: can you text me.. Until you're here.. Please?

Ben: fuck. Why didn’t you call my office?

Ben: happy 50th birthday old man.

Ben: I’m so sorry I wasn’t there, I’m on my way.

Ben: I’m not even sure you can see these yet. I hope you can.

Aspen: Well you should probably learn to check I've been calling..

Aspen: Ben.. I'm scared.

Ben: he had a stroke? How? Where?

Alice: Oh my gosh! Of course!

Alice: Can I do anything? are you okay?

Ben: not at the moment. I’m okay.

Ben: hey beautiful!

Ben: I have to cancel our plans tonight. My sister just told me something happened with my dad so I’m rushing off to the hospital.

Aspen: Why aren't you answering your phone..

Aspen: It's dad.. We need you at New York Pres. Like yesterday.

Ben: I’m sorry I haven’t even really looked at my phone the past few days. Big case.

Ben: wait

Ben: what? What happen to dad?

Alice couldn’t help but giggle as he laughed, still holding him tightly, finally letting her eyes flutter open. “You’re really…really good at that as well. I forgot because last time we did that I wasn’t meant to be enjoying it even though I was. Don’t tell my boss.” She joked, lifting one hand up to run it gently across his cheek, pressing another soft but faster kiss to his lips. “Thanks for being braver than me and saying you wanted to kiss me, otherwise I think I would have just sat on your sofa all night staring at your lips like a lemon.”

“Thank you? Don’t worry, your secret is safe with me.” He smiled as he opened his eyes, taking in her beauty before him. The feeling of her touch hot but comforting at the same time. Ben lifted on his hands, gently placing his hand upon hers as he welcomed her fast kiss. “if it hadn’t been for the alcohol I would have just sat here like a bump on a log. Just hoping I’d have a window of opportunity. I’ve wanted to kiss you like that for a long time.”

Alice slid her tongue across his bottom lip as they carried on kissing, a tiny moan building in her chest but she forced it to remain where it was, removing her hand from where it was on top of his to wrap her arms around his shoulders. Pulling herself flush against him as he did the same, becoming breathless as the time progressed. After a couple more moments she was forced to pull away simply so she could snatch her breath back, resting her forehead against his without able to stop herself from breaking out into a smile. “I hated seeing you upset in Dollhouse that night but…i’m really glad you came in…” The brunette breathed quietly.
