To all those who have served and continue to serve, to those with whom I have served, to the families of those who have served and continue to serve, to all those who have answered the call, I thank you and I salute you. For me, I believe we honor the sacrifices of those who have fought and died for our democracy through our own words and deeds. Â Every day. Â I believe it is important to remember the cost of freedom because democracy is fragile. Â It must be fought for and protected. Â In good times and in bad times. In times of peace and in times of war. Â In times of joy and in times of despair. Â Democracy endures because good men and women choose to fight for it. Every day. May we always live up to the memories of those who have answered the call and remember that we set an example for future generations by what we say and do now. May we use our voices to speak up in the name of freedom, liberty, and equality for all. May our actions, big and small, be a beacon of light in the darkness, here and around the world, and may we always serve to inspire the next generation to continue the fight. Because we fight a battle for truth, justice, and the American way. The fight is never-ending. The fight goes on. Â And so we fight.Â
