the wizarding world seems to have drawn to a halt amongst the anniversary of the war, even the children seem to have a sixth sense for the upset in the eyes of their elders - it's eery and completely unnerving to paxton. he stands before the memorial within hogsmeade square, tired eyes have studied each name diligently for over an hour. he does this each year: though it started off as honouring friends, it is now his form of reminding himself of those he has betrayed. how would his old friends think of him now ? if they only knew the truth.
he steps closer until he can reach out and trace each name, each one a reminder of the people he has let down. he huffs heavily, voice cracking as he lets out a quiet: " dammit. "

context: as an obliviator, pax splits his time between his desk and in the field - though this seems rare for him at the moment - and one of the few personal items at his station is an old photo of himself and his mum. it was taken by his grandma back when he was two years old, it was one of his favourites and often he could be found whispering to it - perhaps the moving figures within would drag him back to happier times.
left picture context: before we get excited, paxton is not engaged. anymore. he had a long standing relationship throughout his years at hogwarts and amidst the rubble of the school and victory echoing around them, paxton hastily popped the question. it was one of those high school love stories turned sour as pax soon withdrew from society in after shacklebolt's announcement in 2018 and broke off the relationship via an owl. does he regret it? yes, of course he does. would he ever beg to be taken back? never.
right picture context: more recent and with a complicated relationship. a label to describe lavender and pax's relationship is too complex, but is there love there? yes, even if pax is too scared and fearful of admitting such, there is something brewing within the air that surrounds the two damaged souls.

đĨđđ¯đđ§đđđĢ đŠđđĢđ¤đđĢ đđĢđ¨đ°đ§ ( @hoggleswart ): i always have to gush about lavender on these because ziggy has taken a character that younger tig didn't really acknowledge - dreadful, i know - to one of my favourites. i am in the lavender brown group. we love her, we protect her, we ensure she lives a great life.
đđđĻđĸđđ§ đ đĢđđ¯đđŦ ( @chacswins ): again, i can't do one of these without mentioning damien and gia. the graves' name has gone from a here and there to some of the most important characters to me - not to mention we need more graves' cough cough another sibling and their aunt cough cough. no but honestly, gia's characterisation and background of damien, and how kind they are as a mun, inspired me to take up moira and now she's stuck around!
đđđĻđŽđ§đ đ°đđđŦđĨđđ˛ ( @fortnas ): a daddy without the child, we love to see it. an honourary daddy some would say. but seriously, i'm a sucker for the weasley and prewett crew, there can never be enough red heads in the world and building on that family with ned was just another score on the card! he's cheeky, grumpy and most definitely still wants clem - who wouldn't? rachel, you are a killer writer.
đđŦđđ¨đĢđĸđ đ đĢđđđ§đ đĢđđŦđŦ ( @lifefuls ): like lavender, the greengrass sisters were fairly insignifcant in my smooth brain as a kid, but now i love them. especially astoria, and thats because of rachel's characterisation and development of her as a person - i love a fleshed out character.
đĻđđĢđĸđđđđ đđđ đđđ¨đĻđđ ( @judvs ): i think i could prattle on about rachel's writing for far longer than i'd like to admit, but we can all agree it's top tier. now marietta, mwah! another example of great portrayal of a fleshed out character - plus she gets to enjoy paxton's annoying company, so... always a plus.
đđđđĨđđĸđ§đ đđĨđđđĢđ°đđđđĢ ( @rebuildeds ): vicky, my love, amazing. perfect. tempest continues to grow on me with each big event and mini one, each development of their character makes me so excited - tempest would be my number one in a book series too, hero or villain, i'm rooting for them.
